Floyd could not beat either. Now we have the after the fight effect where people think Floyd is unbeatable. But Cotto beat Mosley and so did Floyd. Pacman beat guys who were recently beaten. Leonard and Hearns were both guys who were either unbeaten but never knocked out in 1981. Great prime fighters not a guy 38 like Mosley. A good win for Mayweather but not much else.. cannot make this a great win, especially in light of the Cotto fight.

I've seen highlights of the knock downs and stoppage, but not the whole fight.

I was less than a year old when they fought.

They're right. Mayweather doesn't fair well against the all-time greats at welterweight because of his smaller size. If you've noticed, Mayweather is not particularly strong at the weight, and both his combinations and his movement have dwindled since moving up to 147. Floyd can compete with the best of the best at 140 and below, but anything above that and he's ****ed.

Floyd vs Chavez would have been a good scrap.

Floyd couldn't have hung with SRL or Hearns at WW. But that's no slight. Floyd's an atg at the lighter weight classes. SRL and Hearns weren't.

Yeah, no way any current welterweight is competitive with a prime SRL or Hearns. Those guys with the best of the best at this weight.

If the fight goes past 3 rounds, Floyd wins against Hearns in my view. I think Hearns needs to get Floyd out within 2 to 3 rounds or he's going to get his routine stomped, his boxing will get spoilt and Floyd will potentially even knock him out at 147 (Hearns never did have the best chin)

Agreed. It will take a Floyd supporter of Ellerbe proportions to see it any other way.

There's no way Floyd would beat Leonard. Sugar Ray had all the tools to not only beat but stop Mayweather.
