PBF may have had a chance to beat leonard only if they fought in an amateur, pitter-patter setting. benitez is one of the slickest and had a load of ring IQ and walked into so many of leonard's traps.

Mayweather is not in their league.

Skills wise he is an excellent, excellent fighter.

Hearns has too many weapons and has huge wingspan and an excellent jab and can mix it up.

Hearns chin isn't that great at 147? The only guys he's stopped at 147 is Sharmba Mitchell and Ricky Hatton and that's your ground for Floyd stopping Hearns?

    Uh-huh...

Leonard would outbox and out fight Mayweather. His aggression and ability to adjust would be far too much for Floyd.

I like Floyd a lot - But those two are terrible match ups for him.

I would Pick Pryor over him at 140 and Chavez too.

I hate to overkill, but you don't think Hearns could have landed a pretty decent right hand against Floyd in the early rounds while he's still pussyfootin around!?!?! And have you seen what Hearns does to guys when he gets them in trouble?

You think he wouldn't have finished off Mayweather in the second round? Ask Duran... oh wait, he probably doesn't even remember.

  5. You're right. Floyd Mayweather would lose to every fighter he never fought.

Floyd would beat a great deal of fighters in history - He is an EXCELLENT boxer and has amazing skills.

If you could break down for me how May deals with Ray - I'm willing to listen.

I'd pick both against him. I'd give him a better chance against Leonard, but he'd still have to put in the fight of his life to win, even there.

I think Leonard would have been the toughest fight for Mayweather, head to head, when I consider everyone in the history of the sport from 147lbs and down.

I agree Marnoff, with the exception of the previous Sugar.

it's because so many people here think Hearns loses to PBF if it 'goes past three' that we get 50/50 threads comparing Hagler to RJJ.

What factors in particular do you think Robinson brings to the table that would give Floyd more trouble than Leonard?

May couldn't take Hearns, no way he would be able to put together enough of a fight for a decision. Hearns was huge, he fought at welter up to cruiser weight. That reach and jab would be to much for Floyd. He would be the water to Floyds oil slick style of boxing.

Leonard and May would be an awesome fight. Sr put up with him admirably (but by no means was he wining rounds), until 10th round tko. Little Floyd is twice the counter puncher pop was, and I think he hits harder (because of his accuracy and timing).

I never knew Senior had such a chin and could fight hurt like he did until watching that fight. If little Floyd also inherited those qualities, I think boxing fan could greatly be underestimating his potential.

    this is stupid

147 is Mayweathers fifth weight class

147 was Hearns/SRL first weight class

of course they were much bigger.
