Floyd needs to beat Pac to be immortalized in the annals of boxing, and vice versa.

shane is a good victory but let's not forget, floyd was supposed to fight elite welters. it was his first time to do so in the weight. why would floyd be immortalized by beating someone from his own weight?

Not really. He needs to beat him convincingly and I mean have some form of aggression and be on some form of attack. If he just pot shot his way to a boring decision like always it will do nothing in the public eye IMO.

That's almost as slight a chance as Mosley is being given.

Mayweather is an extremely talented fighter but these points alone are enough to ensure he will never be mentioned in the same breath as Ali and Robinson.
Being a boxing legend requires so much more than just being a top fighter. Ali and Marciano are great examples of why this is so.

Mayweather needs to face WW legits after Mosley in order to be immortalized. Beating Shane is just a start to prove he is one of these fighters in this division. Much more if he again runs away with his usual winning but boring performance, in any ways, that's what to be expected.

No one gets immortalized beating a 38 year old. The only shot at immortality is if 38 year old Mosley beats P4P king Mayweather, then it will be arguably the best oldster victory ever.

Kind of funny don't you think? His 2 "best wins" are against 2 boxers who were almost 40 years old and well past there primes.Sure sounds like a legend to me.

Mayweather 'retired' when there were plenty of good fights to be had at 147 and then came back insisting the others had to fight each other to get a shot at him as if he were above it all. He spared himself the wear and tear that the other 147 pounders subjected themselves to. He came back and missed the contract weight with a fighter two weight classes below himself. This fight doesn't even make him the best 147 pounder.
