the usual lead right won't work vs pac, it will be blocked constantly because pac will be out of range. lead left hook/slap, again pac will slip inside and shoot left down the middle and move. jab to body, that punch is used to slow down opponents trying to charge him, was perfect vs maidana, won't affect pac because he will not come in straight line. floyd landed nice right hooks on shane, that punch might work in close. cotto felt nice right uupercuts, but that is dangerous vs pac because he might end up eating left hook like hatton. so what's left? ducking below belt and elbowing, that might work agaisnt the ropes, and he will sneak in nice uppercuts to body and face.
Floyd is versatile, he will do adjustments and find punches which land accurately. Best chance for Pac is to outhustle Floyd and use his legs when he is done with his combinations. That requires a ton of stamina. In order to succed Pac can't afford to take all these body shots that Floyd is planning to land.
Floyd will be reluctant to throw to the body once he sees the speed and power of Pac because there is a chance Pac will counter him
Can't totally change the way he fights for one single fight. He can make adjustments but will inevitably naturally return back to how he usually fights in the heat of the moment and Pacquiao is sure as hell going to bring a lot of heat. That's why I love this fight, it's definitely unknown what to expect here.
The jab to the body will most definitely be immediately countered. Same goes for the right hand. Pacquiao has dealt with fast fighters before, Mayweather has never dealt with a southpaw who fights and is as fast as Pacquiao. Judah was always known to being an inconsistent 3 rounder.
Certainly Floyd did not go after Alvarez or Ortiz. 40 year old Mosley was shot to pieces. Pac is a different animal in there. Going after Pac is the dumbest thing he could do and I am sure he will not do it.
maybe, but watch pac-margarito 6th round where margarito charges in, hurts pac with body shot, pacs back touches the ropes, and in a split second pac pivots and gets out and lands a 1-2, all this happens in a split second, ok may is no margarito but I dont think any human beings is fast enough to slip that shot. but then again, manny may be slowing down also, we will see.
We all know what pac will do, just fight the way he always fights, because if he does change anything that would be his downfall. may on the other hand has to change everything, maidana and cotto smothered their own shots and ate few elbows along the ropes while may took a breather, it won't work vs pac.
Certainly you didn't watch those fights. I agree with part two that "going after," as in coming forward and leading with high volume, against Pac early on isn't smart although I expect him to be doing that in the last third of the fight.
Chris Algirer was landing the right on Pacquiao all night with ease. So the assessment of how mayweather's right won't work I don't see it. Pacquiao has the speed to counter mays right I agree with that, but I also see mayweather getting the right off and tieing up or getting out of the way. May also has enought pop on his right to keep Pacquiao honest as he won't just walk threw the right like he did Algieri's right.
