That is not how it is calculated. Majority of that is purse and gate. PPV is added on top of that. But PPV usually has to make a certain level first before fighters get a cut. HBO Production gets the first "slice". Once it reaches a certain level (probably after 500K) of buys then fighters get a cut. You just dont multiply 58 x 2. More like 20 x 2.

Don't forget that if Floyd is being payed through his promotion companies, he is also burdened with promoters cost - like production, advertisement, fees, etc. Yes as a promoter he gets a bigger cut than a regular fighter, but there are also larger costs involved..

In the end, he will make more money than his previous bouts. And no point really trying to count some one else's money.

 

It is truly sad that people are stressing fighters purses rather than actual boxing.

More accurately HBO get all of it, it's their revenue, then they have to pay the fighters, promotors etc as per the contract.

Your maths is not much better, by your own reasoning you shouldn't be multiplying anything by two, think about it.

Perhaps there is no point to it but some people find it interesting to speculate, if you don't find it interesting what attracted you to this thread, you just wanted to correct someone?
