Mayweather will mop the floor with Pac and Rinse him out on Merchant's Head!!

I think Pacquiao has to get the edge on heart. For years Mayweather has been content on just doing enough to win, and not going for the knock-out (similar to De La Hoya vs. Trinidad, but not as bad). Prior to the knock-out against Hatton, his last meaningful knock-out was against Corales (who was on his way to prison - talk about distraction). Also, the fact that he retired should be taken into consideration.

Pacquiao has always fought his heart out to give the fans a tremendous show. Mayweather could care less about that, he just looks for the easy win.

 

I think he's very good defensively but it's more about his reflexes. The way he ducks punches is particular to him, and imo it comes from his reflexes

If mayweather really had such good adaptability, I think he could win his fights by a bigger margin if he was a bit more aggressive, he can get away with it. I know he could have beaten DLH a lot more convincingly.

 

Agreed, Mayweather cannot be categorized any way other than acknowledging that he is the master of adaptation. He's beaten brawlers, boxers, counterpunchers, swarmers, and wrestlers in 50 different ways and is a genious at ad******g mid-stream. Pac will look like he is getting the better of Mayweather, and will no doubt be busier, but I still like Mayweather in a solid UD on clean effective counterpunching and defense.

i like it when pac is the underdog, because he tries even harder. pac is amazing dont be so quick to count him out. he can match floyd with his speed of foot and hand. pac throws loads of punches how is mayweather going to counter all of them. remember castillo one. pac can apply the same pressure but with better speed.

 

Pac is simply awesome now. He is way better than he was when he fought Morales. I have to give this one to Pac. Mayweather will not be able to get on his bike and counter because foot speed wise Pac can match him. Mayweather will have to stand toe to toe. And if that happens Mayweather is in trouble. Pac gots way more heart than mayweather just look at there fighting styles.

Hey R2D2, if Mayweather picks fighters that he knows are weak, then what about Pacquiao? His last two fights were against guys that Mayweather defeated (one of them by knockout!).

Southpaw, I respect your analysis, were bolth just people, and big fans of boxing,
but Im afraid this breakdown has many holes and mistakes.

If there is one thing that Pac can and does is throw lightning fast straight jabs, go as far back as the Ledwaba and Julio fight, and ask Barrera and Marquez about that. He throws a double jab, even if it misses it blinds, then comes the straight left to the jaw, that put Barr, and Marquez down.

Pacqiuoa, will have a slight speed advantage, he isnt just fast with his Hands, his body
is the fastest in boxing, in the old days, he bewildered apponents, showing up on all different sides in just a few exchanges. Now hes more diciplined in that respect, with added head movement. Take this in to account concerning foot work.

Experience- Goes to Pac, Slightly- even if you think about it as sise for sise, Pacs apponets overral outclass Mayweathers,this issue isnt even close, you can not debate it. Marquez regardless of size, will be the best fighter that Floyd has fought.

Intellect- how could you know who's smarter
Versatillity- Goes to Pac, even If Floyd fights his style of fighting better than anone else does theirs, Pac does everything well, and some things superbly, No disrespect, just look the word up.

Athletism- bolth fighters could have been great in many other sports- I think Tie on this one.
Heart- goes to Pac- His whole life has been about surviving and giving back man, Takes heart to give man, he doesn't just fight for himself, fight for the people and Prays to God to be with him and that his apponent is not seriously hurt. His strenth is not just his own.

Pac has the knowledge that defeat can only make him stronger, smarter, and more confident, hence the revenge on Morralez.
Ability to Adjust- to what degree do you mean? you adjust against apponents, Pacs apponents Far outclass Floyds. Marquez, Barrera, Moralles in their Primes were all better fighters than any fighter Floyd has fought thus far.

I think It will be a great fight, a close one, But Floyd'ds Unicorn has finally come in.
