Mayweather will shamelessly duck Pacquiao

After the drug testing issue stopped one fight, I'm glad my second prediction finally came true! It was inevitable Mayweather would demand too much money, as I said in 2009.

I don't gloat happily though. I wish the fight was happening but, as I said, there'll always be a reason to not make the fight happen as long as Pacquiao is a threat. If Pacquiao looks poor in his next fight, Mayweather will probably offer 50/50.

A sad state of affairs.

 

Mayweather's shameless ducking tactics are clear to see. When he calls dangerous fighters out, there is usually an ulterior motive behind it. I don't think he had any intention to fight Pacquiao when I made this thread in 2009, I don't think he intended to fight Martinez and I don't think he intended to fight Pacquiao this time around.

When Pacquiao declines even more, which he will in his next fight, Mayweather may accept 50/50. If Pacquiao looks good, Mayweather will find some stumbling block.

 

No, I don't think Arum wants the fight to happen. If the public really demand it, he'll begrudgingly accept but I've never thought Arum wanted to risk it, especially as he knows how easy it is to make money from Pacquiao. He has the same mentality as Floyd. Why risk a loss when there is easy money available?

The difference between the two, is that I think Arum would drag his feet but go ahead with the fight. I can't see Mayweather doing the same until Pacquiao has deteriorated enough for it to be an easy fight.

I don't excuse Arum though. He's almost as bad as Floyd. I think he's hurt Pacquiao's reputation.

 

Indeed, mate. The pattern has been followed since Mayweather became a 'star'. As soon as that happened, the cherry picking and ducking started. I just wish his fans would accept this, stop buying his PPVs and that would force Mayweather into delivering excellent fights.
