ESB Fans I've said it before, and I'll say it again, this fight is a stylistic nightmare for Pac-man. Now Freddie Roach is saying: ...This is completely opposite of the [Miguel] Cotto fight, opposite of the [Ricky] Hatton fight, and opposite from the [Oscar] de la Hoya fight, Roach told Brad Cooney of 8countnews.com. We will come up with a new game plan, a 10 week camp, and some changes. We will work on setting traps and taking Floyd's speed away from him. Roach added: It's a difficult fight, it's the most difficult style for us to go against because he is a runner and a counter puncher. It's the best fighting the best right now. People can say what they want, but he's very good at what he does. He's not an exciting fighter, but he's good at what he does, he said. Floyd is not an offensive guy he's a very defensive fighter, but defense doesn't win fights, offense does. We will excel in those areas, and we can match his hand-speed. Mayweather is very clever, it's a challenge for both men, the trainer continued. He's underestimating Mayweathers offense. Is Roach conceding the fact that it has to be a totally different Pac-man to beat Mayweather? Be that as it may, Mayweather wins this fight in an easy decision. 9 rounds to 3. Don't be fooled. What say you ESB?
We haven't seen Mayweather challenged in a fight since Judah. In recent sparring Lamont Peterson gave it to Floyd over three days. I don't know if he'll win, but Manny does have all the tools to push Floyd harder than we've ever seen.
MAYWEATHER KO11 over WAPAKMAN, I'm not a Mayweather fan , but for this one I am, mainly because I'm a fan a pure boxing, and I'm AMERICAN! Support the troop!
Can't see it. I just haven't seen the type of grit in him for the past few years. I'd say Hatton was his best win in 5 years, like it or not Hatton caused problems. The way Hatton was able to get in and get off really posed problems, Ricky's fault was he stayed there too long. I don't think Pac will, while he likes to throw combos he hasn't been as receptive to exchanges as he once was. I expect him to try and set a fast pace as did Hatton. Pac has become a very precise puncher and I don't think Maywether is as unhittable as some think. He leaves alot of openings and is use to his speed, reflexes and patience carrying him through. With Pac he will be in with a man as athletic or moreso than himself. While he does have a reach advantage, when it comes to fighting I say Manny is the best.
Yeah right, Floyd will win on points.... But the decision will be twisted, coz Floyd will be kissing the canvass and never get up...
well at most, you've only said it 9 times before. I bet you could've found a thread to put this post into, though.
I disagree Ricky didn't cause anything. It was his ability to close the distance that threw PBF off at first. PBF adjusted, broke Ricky down, beat him at his own game and made him dance with the ring post. It was really an underrated clinic if anything.:deal
I must have discussed every scenerio of this fight to points, K.O, draw you name it. We wont know until the night and it can go either way or could be a very much one sided affair to either fighter. All depends on whos game plan comes off. If neithers strategy works we are likely to see a close split decision.
:verysadBe for real. :thinkUntil Floyd took over in the second half, Ricky was really in that fight. I'm sure you're vagina was sweating watching it.
Yea it was a great fight to watch. Ricky was imposing his will until Floyd was able to break him down with precise power shots. Floyd does have the power to hurt guys, he's just a more cautious fighter. I agree his ability to jump in fast and close the distance was a problem. What do you mean Ricky didn't cause anything? You don't think that even if Floyd was in control that Ricky had him out of his comfort zone.
Even though he was uncomfortable he was still wining rounds, which is the key. I gave Hatton 1 round in that fight at best.
I gave him 2 maybe 3. I know Ricky is an in fighter and Pac fights outside to midrange, but Pac can close the gap better than anyone. I can really see him moving alot and forcing Floyd forward to win some rounds. Role reversals, and i think Pac can land some big hooks amd staright lefts.. Maybe no K.O. but definitely altering Floyds usuall ability to adapt.
