For these types of events the undercard fights should be always be the other best matchups available more or less. It's not so much the fact that this thing cost $100- the whole world was watching. You want to capitalize on that by having non main event fights compelling and having stars with some name value or likely to be breakout stars. This way you build for the future and keep the sport from having a black eye.

Exactly, hit and don't get hit, I'm sick of fanboys and casuals embarrassing themselves, appreciate a genius and appreciate manny that simple.

Once again, boxing fails when it falls under the spotlight. Really upset that BOTH guys didn't put on a more exciting performance. All the talk from both sides, all the money spent by folks to tune in, all to watch a ****-poor showing from both guys that will net them 300-million plus.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. will go down as THE MOST overrated champion EVER in the sport of boxing.

    ...

And there's nothing whatsoever his wanna-be buttbuddy Pimp C can do about that!

Exactly tonight was a master class for the purests, casuals are what they are, and say what they say. Tonight for me was a masterclass and I throughly enjoyed it.

I paid for that and said the same thing then, not on here though. But that match didn't have near the build up that this one did. You're the one being naïve here if you think there won't be a backlash by casuals after this debacle, and at least De La Hoya fans we took some comfort in the fact that he actually tried and got a SD loss.

Yeah, that's true, but he doesn't do it in an aesthetically pleasing or graceful way like other ATGs have done. And he runs and runs without throwing. He doesn't do stuff like the Ali shuffle to woo the crowd. It's all very boring. Technically skilled but doesn't pass the eye test and thus can't compare to boxing legends of the past who did it against better competition.

That said, Floyd is a human being. He's an incredible talent, had an incredible career. But it's not "hit and not being hit" at the highest level. He runs away but still gets hit, he got backed up by Pac. He makes mistakes.

It's a double edge sword though. I try not to hold Floyd to an incredibly high standard, but lets not get crazy and say Floyd just displayed boxing in its most pure form. At a high level? Yes. At his age impressive? Absolutely. But lets not act like he's the best fighter in the world. Amir Khan would probably beat Floyd.
