That was also said regarding other fights before it. Guess what?, this is 2015 and we had a far bigger build up. Years later, whether you and I will be alive to witness it, there will be another.

Casuals will always backlash but they will always be clueless casuals who will move on to other interests they're "hardcore" about as you and I are about Boxing. Fact is, casuals will NEVER EVER be satisfied. If it's a tactical fight, then it's boring to casuals because they're too casual to understand what's going on. If it's competitive, then a robbery involving whoever they support "kills boxing/the hype". Honestly, casuals will never ever be satisfied. The only ones that are usually happy and satisfied are the hardcore fans that fully understand what they saw. This is very similar to the first HULK movie. Hardcore HULK fans loved it because it showed them how the character was really done and how HULK actually came to be HULK. The casuals, however(myself included), thought of it as a complete utter bore of a disappointment. Why?, because we don't know what's going on and we don't care, we just want to see brainless crushing which we expect HULK to be all about as casuals expect Boxing, as a violent sport, to be all about.

The sport is fine, don't worry. Casuals don't bark forever because even their barking is as casual as their actual presence in the sport. As always and as regularly proven, they will be here for another properly promoted event to flash their pictures and simply brag "we were there!, we saw it live!".

ydksab if you think that was a masterclass. pac clipped mayweather cleanly plenty of times with the straight left, despite having a shorter reach. pac also put him on the ropes a few times and teed off at will at a shelled up floyd, despite being the smaller man. that was no masterclass, fool.:hi:

Just to be clear, Whitaker is a far greater fighter than Mayweather.

Ironically I'm a Hardcore comic fan and I loved the first HULK film, and because I know how the casuals reacted to that and many other films that weren't up their alley, is the very reason matches like this depress me, you and I are old enough to remember when Boxing was actually popular, there was buzz every time a Holyfield or Tyson match came along and I even vaguely as a kid remember a little of the Leonard v Hearns/Hagler hype. And yes casuals are annoying assholes but still I wish the sport could go back to the glory days of the past, when the mainstream actually somewhat cared.

Amen to that. The business of boxing is thriving, but the sport is suffering. Really feel bad for the fans tonight. Everyone in the MGM arena tonight is either a con or a fool and I'm thankful I dont have that kind of money to waste.

They will always care, just as long as fights are hyped well enough by the media to lure them in. In this God awful dumbed down era of Social Media, all it takes is brainless hype with absolutely no explanation of styles and how they make fights in the sport. You saw all those idiots say "Mayweather has awesome defense!" before this fight, yet when he displayed it we got "WHAT IS THIS BORE!!!" from the very same drunkards.

All it takes is proper hype material and the mainstream are sold. Mayweeather's next and final fight and the massive attraction it is guaranteed to generate regardless of opponent should be good enough proof.

GGG, Canelo, Floyd, and Manny on the same card would've been f'ing amazing. Definitely worth a 90-100 dollar price tag.

I get what you're saying, but the sport really needs the Kovalev's and GGG's of the world to bring in the casuals and hopefully keep them by delivering with each and every performance, I long for the sport to be consistently popular and be considered as important as it used to be. Not the endless repetitive chain of disappointments that Floyd has let loose upon the fans year in and year out. If the sport had a Tyson like figurehead again, maybe the casuals wouldn't be so disillusioned and haul ass after every other dull match that they get sucked in for, that's partially why I'm uncharacteristically rooting for Wilder, I see some of that potential in him.

The problem with what your saying is that those fighters will never be as big in the US to where Floyd and Pac have been.

Europe, South America, Mexico yes they can be, but I think Boxing is dead in the US after Floyd and Manny retire unless there can be a big time HW from the US and no i'm not talking about Deontay.

I don't know about that GGG and Kovalev have been regularly pulling in over a Million viewers, now with these two somewhat out of the way maybe HBO can double down and promote the hell out them and build them into the type of stars that Manny has been.

No one gives a **** about your heros. :hi::hi::hi::hi::hi::

If Mayweather's style was so negative, the casuals have had 3 opportunities now to oppose it.

We have more than enough sample data to show that the fans want to watch Mayweather fight. The numbers don't lie. However, your opinion is highly irrelevant.

Never will be at Floyd-Pac level of mainstream significance. Only die hards and people watching HBO will care about those fighters.

Boxing is dead in the US.

They watch him to see him lose, and the Mexicans really want to see him lose. Which is why he repeatedly goes out of his way to fight Mexicans or Latinos every chance he gets. No one truly enjoys watching him, and you're a crazy obsessive Floyd fanboy and completely biased therefore your opinion is completely irrelevant.
