I'll try to cover what I remembered. Floyd is better at ad******g and defending against counters than Pac. So if Pac times Floyd's lead right and counters it, he won't be able to consistently do it. Floyd won't have to worry about trading punch for punch.

Also Zab Judah had a strong right hook and a powerful lead left and Floyd did a good job defensively after the first few rounds against them.

And scratch off the jab and uppercut. Nobody lands uppercuts on Floyd from long or mid range. And Pac's jab won't land and if he tries to use it a lot, it'll get him countered. Floyd can hook over it by the way Pac throws it and he can counter with his lead right. I have some nasty gifs of Floyd countering Ortiz's jab :hey

I agree with you on Floyd's strategy on the ropes and that worries me a bit. Pac doesn't tire easily and Floyd could be waiting all night for him to slow down if that's his strategy. Also Floyd doesn't defend as well against the ropes against southpaws because he doesn't seem to rely on his shoulder roll.

Of course Pac is wide open for counter punches. How many aggressive offensive fighters in the history of boxing has been a master of defense? NONE. Pac is open because he lets his hands go. Floyd picks apart fighters that throw one punch at a time. Go watch rounds 1-8 of Mayweather-De La Hoya again. Notice how Floyd took much longer to counter De La Hoya who was throwing combos at him. That fight was a toss up if De La Hoya hadn't gassed after 8 rounds.
