I'd expect Mayweather to completely outclass Pavlik and win every round. If the Pacquiao fight falls through, he should jump up a couple of divisions and take the middleweight crown. It may be a horrible division, but it would certainly boost Mayweather's legacy.
Floyd wud skool pavlik despite bein small. Hopkins at 44 was way 2 fast for pavlik so how the fuk wud he deal with floyds speed and skill.
It doesn't matter. Mayweather would make those punches miss. Pavlik is good for throwing 80 shots a round against a guy who is stood right in front of him, but if he faces any movement at all, he is screwed. Mayweather has got very fast feet and would completely puzzle Pavlik. Everything Pavlik does comes from the jab. The jab is the only punch Mayweather would need to wonder about and it is so slow and so easy to predict, I don't think a ring genius like Mayweather would take more than 10 seconds to figure it out. On fight night, he'd be giving up a good 15lbs, but that size difference is minimal. Look at how Taylor, a guy with speed and athleticism, struggled against Spinks. Mayweather's vast physical attributes would ensure he clowns Pavlik all night without taking more than 10 clean shots.
When has Floyd ever lose a fantasy match up. And that's were most of them stay, in fantasy. One might come to reality on May 1st, but Shnae by KO.
Exactly. Size isn't important if you know how to cover it up properly. Mayweather wouldn't take Pavlik's big right hand too well, but it wouldn't land, so what does it matter? Mayweather has made a career out of making sharp, accurate punchers miss. What would Pavlik have? Marquez didn't land many clean punches and he's one of the best punches in the last 20 years, yet the reason he didn't was because he lacked the speed....well, so does Pavlik and Pavlik doesn't have the punching form either. If Pavlik could fight on the inside, he would destory Mayweather, but he is too rangey for that. His size and strength would be impossible to enforce.
Height isnt everything, but it is when youre not a plodding 7ft heavyweight. Pavlik isnt exactly slow and he out would jab a slower version of Floyd all night long. Floyd wouldnt be able to get in range enough. He would never take that fight
He is slow. He's a slow middleweight, but against a fast JMW in Mayweather? He wouldn't get close to him. Pavlik has a good, strong jab but when has it ever been truly successful against a guy with good head and foot movement? It just isn't and it never has been. When his jab doesn't land, what is he going to do?
