Even when he was active, it was the same old story. The worst part about it is that his fans just went along with it all. "I've got nothing left to prove" after every fight. "We're not fighting to see who the best is". Speak for yourself Floyd. I have always acknowledged Floyd is a great fighter, but just simply saying he would do this and do that is the problem. We have to use the words "would" and "could" because he never "did". Manny Pacquiao has achieved more than Floyd, but when do you ever hear him come out and say "I've got nothing left to prove". You don't.
interesting match-up. both are very skilled fighters, but pbf has the edge in almost every department.
Make the ****ing fight. Money Marquez is a brave man wanting to fight mayweather. He's shown Money May more respect than pac after the cepillo and baby bull fight.
It has nothing to do with Bravery. To quote Baby Bull, "I'm a fighter". Floyd might need to assess everything before he gets in the ring, but the two guys who will win FOTY honors for 2009 fight everybody because they believe in their ability and they know what their job is.
He's a minuscule of a human being, & that's why he talks the way he talks...... a shame for him and his fans... poor guy! He won't be able to get past JMM or Pac.... ever!!! not to mention real comp @ 147!!!!
"Floyd does everything better..." :huh Floyd rarely puts more then 2-3 punches together anymore... He's superior on defense, but I don't think so offensively.
It just depends which weight. Back in his lighter days, he put together more combos. But overall, I think JMM is a better combo puncher than PBF. JMM's combos are beautiful. Its just beautiful to watch him fight.
I think it really comes down to floyd's speed and size disparity. They both are evenly matched in skills, what separates them are their physical gifts. Floyd is just too big for Marquez and would beat him in my opinion.
Is JMM getting the 60% split here? I doubt though if Floyd will come out even if he gets the 60% split. More likely, Floyd will demand a guaranteed $20m plus 75% of the PPV shares. That just won't happen and much more now because of the status of the economy.
Mayweather would likely win but I think Marquez is definitely a better offensive fighter than Mayweather. He puts combinations together much better and has better punching technique. Mayweather is better at avoiding punches. Sometimes I get the feeling Floyd is slapping with his punches.
Mayweather walks Marquez down and stops him. I have no idea how people think Marquez stands a shot in there with Mayweather.
Not to say if Floyd comes back he's shouldn't fight 147lbers, but him fighting guys like Marquez, Pacquiao etc woudn't be a problem either. In all honesty those are guys around his size. Just because Floyd fought as high as 154 doesn't mean he's a 154lb fighter. Infact he's not even a big welterweight. He's small. I see no problem at all him fighting 135 to 140lbers if he chooses to. He's not the welterweight champion anymore so it really doesn't matter.
