First off...Mosley was competitive for a couple of rounds!! Very impressed with how he caught Mayweather with a big right hand in the second round, even more impressed how he hurt him later on in the round with the same right hand. Mayweather took the shots extremely well and came back very well. Was it just me, or did Mayweather look the consistently stronger fighter throughout the 12? Yes Mosley hurt Mayweather in the 2nd...but this is the most powerful and most offensive I have seen Mayweather at 147lbs. He planted his feet and was throwing with a lot of power...it was great to see him stand centre of the ring again and trade. I am also in awe with his ability to nulify his opponents offense...there have been great examples of this throughout his career, but I think this is the most impressive. He almost makes his opponent insecure and uncertain about throwing, and what punch to throw. I think Mosley gassed a little early...this may have been his age, nerves, punches, etc...but I really enjoyed this bout, and thought Mayweather was brilliant...and showed a bit of his old self in the ring, back to the days when he was at 130-135lbs.
Exactly. Floyd takes away any confidence his opponent may have about throwing. It's particularly impressive that he could do this with a guy like Mosley who loves to let his hands go. Great, great display.
