Hey, let's just wait until Manny loses/retires. We got 3-4 years of relative peace after Tyson went, before the next brawler idol came along for the lightweight fans to follow

"As nothing to do with punches being slow and not having snap or power because a guy is winded and too tired to throw a solid punch. Fool..."

A ******* who wasn't even watching boxing 4 years ago calling a guy who knows the sport a fool.....................Man, Pacquiao had NOTHING after Marquez landed 2 rounds of counter punches on him either. Was he shot or gassed? Very hard to fight anyone who can punish you every time you try and attack

"1 month away from 39 it was? Oh no, what a huge difference, he was still a young guy... Plus he had a what, year and a half lay off too?"

Man, go back to the WWE fan boards please. A boxers age is what they're doing in the ring at the time. Pacquiao's faced tons of opponents who've been more shot at say 31? Morales was way worse age wise against Pacquiao, than Mosely against Mayweather

"No he was not gassed... lmfao... He wasn't breathing heavily, he wasn't breathing with his mouth open, his punches still had snap, etc..

"mentally broken". Yeah that's why he threw more in the 2nd half than the first according to some... lmfao. Do you even know what mentally broken is?"

This is just "boxing for idiots".

Know how hard it is to consistently attack, for 12 rounds, guys who just back you up every time you try and throw a shot?

I can't think of a fighter who hasn't looked next to finished after 5 rounds with mayweather.

Was Pacquiao gassed versus Marquez? He had nothing after 2 rounds.

Coz he was too old, too slow and too tired... Couldn't do much vs Mora either... Other fighters beat him: Cotto, Forest, or Wright... Except, unlike vs Gayweather, he was at his prime, vs Gayweather, he was old, passed his prime and got winded after a couple of rounds.

"hit with lasers unable to do anything about it".
Because he was too old. During the first 2 rounds, where he a shadow of his former self, he hurt Floyd badly. Floyd beat up an old man with a long lay off...

    ================================================================

Forrest beat Mosely clearly in 2002.

Mosely pushed Cotto, and Winky all of the way in fights. Winky 2 and Cotto were knife edge decisions. A heck of a lot of pundits gave both fights to Mosely.

2004-2010 Shane was in EVERY fight until the last round. You could argue he beat both Winky and Cotto in their bouts. Destroyed Margarito, Collazo, Vargas.

As I said, don't know why I'm seriously debating boxing with someone who's just trolling as he once had a hardon about floyd once by accident, and has been hating on him ever since

You are all over the place Wonderful, but you do know that there is a such thing as "mental exhaustion" in boxing too right? Shane was toast after two in that fight. Throwing more punches in the second half of a fight says nothing to the quality of the punches.

I agree with you that (hyper) effective counter-punching "freezes" a fight. The more you throw. The more you get hit. So the less you throw or the more you (garbage) flurry in close. The undeniable fact is though that SSM looked done in that corner after 2.

I am a Mayweather fan, but Shane looked worlds apart from how he did against Margo. He looked just as crappy against Mora. I don't care what anyone says... He hasn't looked the same since he went through OSDT.

That really is the unfortunate truth that most *******s can't really handle.

Marquez did to Pacquiao exactly what Mayweather did to Mosely.

Marquez had 2 tough rounds, adjusted, and then just neutralised the guy. Manny had next to no offense from then on.

Had he gassed? Was he overrated? Why did he knock him down 3 times in round one, and then barely hurt him again? Why didn't have have snap in his shots? Why didn't he have speed or power?

The answers simple. That's what happens when you face a guy with A+ skills.

Who honestly thinks it would be that much different for Pacquiao/Mayweather?

As in, Manny having 2-3 good rounds, before Floyd just neutralizes the guy for the next 9-10 rounds

Pacquiao threw about the same number of shots against Marquez after round 2 as Mosely did Mayweather.

    He had no answers

i'll take you up on that.

marquez was brilliant in the first fight - and nothing short of it - after that first round.

that's exactly why he will always be one of my favourite fighters.

but pacman was never 'out' of that fight...

marquez's couterpunching was beautiful but pac's pressure coming forward was admirable.

neither fighter deserved to lsoe that fight.

we all know what happened on the scorecards in the second so take a deep breathe, pal.

i don't know why you two give credit to both fighters instead of showing your character frailities by making it personal...

The old adage is "styles make fights"

If you want to just stand there and trade with Shane, he'll beat you up. As he has a better chin than you, more power than you, more accuracy than you, and more speed than you.

Sorry, a fighter looking good against Margarito and bad against Mayweather is hardly ground breaking news.

I bet Marquez would push a heck of a lot of other 140 and 147 opponents pretty hard
