Outboxer, My comment was not a knock on your thread, as I have no problem asking for specific examples for discussion purposes. It was for the azzclowns who just want to blindly hate, contrary to anything happening in the ring.
Its easy to count how many punches are thrown, not so easy to see how many actually land. Mosley himself said he wasn't gassed in this fight. I don't think Mosley was throwing that much BUT thats because he knew everytime he punched he was likely to miss and be countered and ofcourse was getting beaten up
I merely stated that the ability to count punches thrown would likely and is most likely to be A LOT easier to count than punches landed. That's all I said. Which I think is true, I think punch stats for punches thrown are near dead on, it's simple stuff. Punches landed are more skewed.
Btw, all boxers at the top level adjust to some degree or another. Floyd is not a special case in that dept. He's a counter pucher, it's his job to do what he does. Ever seen James toney, Wilie Pep, Pernell Whitaker, Roy Jones, Joe Walcott, Bernard Hopkins, etc? Ray Leonard was more versatile then Floyd could ever hope to be.
I dont disagree with that, but as someone else said, Mosley did not even throw that much, so its kind of a mute point.
lol....i think he really just reads and reacts better than anyone today...maybe thats a better way of putting it.
203? I have seen people throw 100 in 1 round, and thats over 6? Also, are we talking about the pity pat stuff he was hitting Mora with, those stay busy, pushing little punches he throwing inside? A lot of Mosley's after that early onslaught had nothing on him, sure you must of seen that?
The next 4 rounds after round 2 Mosleys punch rate dropped but it picked back up in the 7th. Mayweather who is regarded for his stamina threw 477
Your not going to convince me what I saw with my own two eyes, which was a fighter visibly!! blowing after 2 rounds.
Mentally, maybe even moreso than physically, the body attack in that fight definitely helped break down Judah. Judah was having real reactions (flinting, lowering of guard, more reluctance to attack, etc.) to those jabs and leads to his stomach and ribs. The success of the body attack helped set up the leads up top. Anybody watching the fight could literally see the body punches taking effect. Watch this video. Starting at around 2:05 min mark til the end of the video, you can literally see the body attack (along with the lead rights) take the fight ouf of Zab. He comes up with intricate plans and recreates blueprints in his head. Then does several complicated calculations, involving the area of the ring, weight of his opponent, his opponents heart, then mixes it all up with the theory of relativity and that's how he successfully comes up with his adjustments.
