I'm no boxing historian, but it seems like it's just not possible for any current fighter to ever break the top 5 ATG list. It's barely possible to break the top 10 i'm sure. But b/c of Floyd's overall accomplishments and beating the top 2 welters after dominating all other weight classes except 140, i'd say he should be up there.

I don't even have a list. I just take a look at other's lists 'cause I'm not even familiar with the whole career of most of the fighters there to be honest.

As time wears on I'm guessing Floyd's value will go up. People recognize the skills, If he were to back this up with a great resume, he could be up there no doubt.

I think all of us can be honest about Floyd Mayweather and admit that he has had a very good career, just not a great career... yet. He has all the potential in the world to put himself in the top 10 of all time.
The saddest thing about Roy's career is he didn't take on the biggest challenges he could in his prime. We all know he would have won the fights, but he just didn't do it.
Mayweather is staring down the barrel of the same gun. He has outshone who he was supposed to and avoided the guys who would make him look human. It's good marketing. I personally believe with his wins over Castillo/Corrales/Hernandez/Chavez/Burton/de la hoya that he has firmly made a statement for a hall of fame fighter, but without wins over Pacquiao/Cotto/Mosley/Williams or guys who stand a chance right now, then he will get looked over.

He actually has to fight them first. I remember us talking about this exactly 2 years ago.

If Mayweather fought James Toney, Sam Langford, Ivan Calderon and Carlos Monzon he would be ATG

    Styles make fights.
Frazier lost to foreman and ali prior to the thrilla in manila. Both were 'old'
If that isn't a career defining fight, then i'll stop watching boxing.

Top 30-20 would be the sweet spot.

They lost because they actually took a risk. Cotto fought a guy who everyone refused to fight and was probablly using loaded gloves. Mosley fought a guy who already beat him in the amateurs that noboddy would fight. How many avoided guys at his weight has Mayweather fought ? Mosley fought Cotto after Margarito turned down a fight with him in 07, Mosley fought Collazo who everyone was avoiding after he beat Hatton, Mosley fought Winky Wright who had been avoided like the plague for 5 years and to this day still is. Lets see Mayweather fought JMM a guy coming up 2 weight classes, an old part timer in DLH, Hatton coming up in weight, Judah coming off an embarrsing loss to Baldomir, Baldomir possibly along with Judah the worst linear Champions in history, a shot Sharmba Mitchell. Hell Cotto just fought Joshua Clottey who had to sit out nearly a year because he couldnt get anyone in a ring with him. Lets see where that 0 is if Mayweather had Wright,Forrest, prime DLH,Margarito,Collazo,Clottey,Cotto,Mosley on his resume.

Yup and his nutswingers from get that. They bring up him fighting the best guys like Hernendaz,Corrales,Castillo 7 or more years ago. Ill admitt Floyd fought and beat down the best guys at or around his weight back then but look at his resume since his move to 140 its awful even embarrsing. Corely I could understand at his first 140 pound fight but then Bruseles and then Gatti :-( Mitchell for his first Welterweight bout :huh Judah,Baldomir :rofl old DLH for money I can understand that I guess and DLH did have a belt so thats ok but then Hatton after he ducked Mosley and then JMM instead of coming back to reclaim his WW thrown agianst a real ****ing Welterweight. Hell JMM only had 2 fights at Lightweight let alone Welterweight.

dont have one. am not educated enough about boxing to the point where i could create a list. although no one asked, i want people to know that i started calling myself money years before mayweather so don't look at my id and think i am biased...or even a mayweather fan for that matter
