or looking at the other side of the coin...if floyd looses...he gets 0 money and looeses his 0 loss....:scaredas:
Did I ever say I complained that the fight is 50-50. No, what I said is that Pacquiao doesn't deserve 50-50 based on his numbers, and it isn't outlandish for Mayweather to ask for what he deserves.
That is what I don't get. Do you love floyd so much that you'll have to defend 60% for floyd all day? Toontoon is right, even if we all agree to something here in the forum doesn't mean that the fight will happen. I just don't see why people have to spend much energy with this ****.
I don't think he deserves more. His numbers are only good when the fight is heavily promoted and the opponent looks credible.
It's stupid because Floyds only demand was blood testing which he will do also. He had already agreed to all of your boys demands sucha as 8 oz gloves, weight penalties and 50-50 split. It was so simple it's stupid, I'm not saying it wasn't necessary.
My honest take on all of this 60/40 bs is this. Floyd's fans are trying to make a case so if pac doesn't accept this ludicrous deal that they can shift the blame to pac when floyd refuses to come back to 50/50.
right on!:good It just doesn't sound right that people are defending 60 for floyd and their actions wont even amount to anything in terms of getting the fight made or getting their pockets fat.
Floyd needs to understand it takes two to tango. This is not a normal fight, Pacman would be his biggest payday partner, 10% in this fight means around $20m, thats more than some fighters make in their whole career's.
Mayweather is the bigger draw. However, PBF vs Mosley demonstrated that the difference between the two currently is marginal. Given comparable opposition at the moment, Floyd will slightly outsell Pac, but neither one can get close to the same money fighting anyone else, and both camps know this. The difference is that Pac has proven to be more willing to make big fights than Floyd, and though the Mosley win helps Floyd along those lines, his legacy of not making the big fights is still there so the onus is more on him to get the fight made than Manny, imo. Pac can easily make a fight with Cotto for the 154 crown, and there's nobody from a name and talent value standpoint that matches Cotto for Floyd to counter with. The only person that Floyd might get props from a hardcore fan perspective for fighting over Cotto is Paul Williams, but I don't think Floyd wants that fight. He had Martinez as an option, but since Martinez is staying at Middleweight, that's unlikely as well.
Im a floyd fan but it should be 50/50. if this fight dies because floyd insisted on 60/40 then its on him and he really is the lying pos all the haters claim he is.
promotion is all a part of the game. they could have promoted Pac v Clottey all they wanted and they would have not done much better. I am a fan of Pacs but he cannot sell PPV like money (who I am also a fan of). what you are saying is like saying the only reason why Avatar broke all the box office records is because it was promoted all to hell and its competition at the box office. which is all valid points but it still made a **** load of money and nobody qualifies it that way . . . ps ya never did tell me why you have ron paul as your avatar
