Well he has to prove the business model is a profitable one first. Until he does such there is no such thing as 'future earnings'.

Why is everyone flipping over Floyd wanting to fight what equates to a tune-up? He never does them. Time after time he's fought the top dogs without taking any lay-up fight, so why when he wants to do one for his final fight is there this backlash, especially when there's talk of it being on CBS? If this tune-up were to be ppv then yes I agree, this is an issue, but if it's free why is there still backlash? Plenty of great fighters have fought guys levels below them, look at Chavez Sr.'s record, or Duran, even after they were top guys, they just didn't make them ppv type fights, and rightfully so. Top guys throughout history have stayed active and padded their records by fighting top guys and taking a lay-up in between them. I know the difference was they were more active, but at 38, and having challenged nearly every top guy in his range sans new guys that will always appear (even having fought some of them) why can't he have just one? His legacy won't get any better anyway, and he won't top anymore records.

Very interesting. I think Broner-Porter did around 4.5 million viewerships?

I think Floyd fighting on free TV would be a terrific way to ride off into the sunset. I think his farewell fight on CBS could get upwards of 10 million views. I don't know how profits work through free TV/Nielson ratings, but I'd imagine if they could get in the 10 million viewership range, it would be highly profitable for all parties involved.

because people want to see Floyd lose as bad as they want to breathe. They will want him to fight at HW when he's 50 or else he's a ducking cherry picking fraud. The hate is some of the most irrational I've ever seen.

nope. it is known that he has a guaranteed purse of tons of money per fight so he cannot have a tune up. those who are paying want him to earn it. another thing is that those calling him as tbe has to maintain a higher standard of opposition. you cannot be called tbe and just fighting bums. as tbe, your skill is the best in the sport hence you only have to fight the best possible opponents.

He always fights bums and when he does fight a real fighter he waits for them to become shot

This sums it up. They can't fathom him retiring undefeated beating their heroes and them never getting a chance of seeing him take a L get humbled or knocked down. I hoipe he fights a soft touch on free CBS and calls it a day just so they will be on suicide watch afterwards.:yep

    :huh Pacquiao:

    Cotto - plastered by Margarito
Margarito - KTFO by grandpa Mosley
    Mosley - DOMINATED by Floyd
    Hatton - KOd by Floyd
    DLH - beat by Floyd
    Rios - beat by Alvarado
    Morales - reamed by Raheem

But you're right. Floyd DID fight an overhyped bum May 2nd!

It's not irrational hate. The guy is a total d bag. If ever there was a human being athlete to rationally hate, it's Mayweather.

That does not take anything away from his boxing ability, which is pretty fantastic; but, the guy is still a world class jerk. If he gets run over by a bus one day, I doubt many people will be shedding tears.

So its safe to say that he's taking it easy for his last fight. Won't be watching it then. Not that I blame him, he earned it anyways but I hope nobody argues about his last fight and say that its great.

Reminds me of when Hollywood Hogan fought Goldberg on free tv instead of PPV.
