    Firstly, Compubox is nonsense.

Secondly, what your breakdown didn't mention is that Mayweather, who is known for rarely ever taking flush punches, took some of the biggest shots he's taken in his entire career against Corley and Judah.

Most people have already seen this, but here it is:

    There are also these examples:

In the gifs, notice how he tries to lean back in the roll position each time. The southpaw left comes from a different angle to the orthodox right, which can make it easier to get through when Mayweather is in that shoulder-roll position. That doesn't mean that simply fighting from a southpaw stance is going to cause Mayweather problems, and all southpaw punches don't automatically grant you a way of getting through the shoulder-roll. A good fighter in that stance does make things a bit riskier than usual for Mayweather, however, due to the punches coming from different angles. Rolling with them can be trickier for him than usual.

I don't know much about Guerrero, but if he's as unimpressive as people suggest then Mayweather shouldn't have much trouble.

The shoulder roll works great against southpaw right hooks.

    Corley
    Judah
    Mitchell
    Ortiz.

Yeah, that's a pretty elite bunch right there,

. Makes me wonder though. Would he have still been undefeated if real fighters like the Punisher & Martinez were 2 southpaws on his relatively mediocre resume??:think

Paul Williams fought too stupid at times to have been a serious threat to "the mover" Mayweather. Williams didn't utilized that amazing reach and height effectively enough and relied on volume. He fought a short mans game, and that would not have worked for him.

Martinez was always much larger than Mayweather, the fight has only been on the radar the last couple of years. Stop hating.

Having an opinion that does not equal yours doesn't make me a hater. I could call you the same, hating on the Punisher, if I didn't realize that people do feel differently about fighters.

But the Punisher threw 100+ punches a round. Floyd is far to economical at 147 to have any countering effect. He'd be overwhelmed with relative ease.

Didn't direct the hating comment towards your opinion on Williams. That was a legitimate fight that could've possibly happened. Martinez however, never really was, despite Sergio's posturing these past 2 years or so.

Ghost is getting KO'd. The size difference and reach will greatly be on display.

If Floyd were to say right now he'd fight Martinez, it happens. But anyhow on a broader note, Martinez is doing exactly what both Floyd & Pacman have done once they made it to the pinnacle of boxing. Milking the fans & the sport dry.

    pretty solid TS post...

Whats remarkable vs the other previous southpaws is that Guerrero is a natural pressure fighter...

Mayweather should consistently win vs boxer/punchers and counter-punchers regardless of stance. Its simply because those styles are reliant on speed, and he'll always be faster, and speed gets the first punch in, whether its a lead or counter. Marquez learned this.

Pressure fighting isn't reliant on speed, but a consistent, cumulative attack. What makes this a pretty compelling fight is finding out if Mayweather will be able to control the pace of the action and slow it down to a manageable and mitigateable situation, versus Guerrero not being deterred by the sharpness and counter-punching ability of Mayweather.

I would call Mayweather's style intent as a "Control-Boxer", a style that mitigates, minimizes, and manages the opponent's offense, through the accuracy, timing, and sharpness of punches, to deter and diminish down the other's offense. He does this consistently by Round 3 and on, knocking his opponent's punches thrown way under their average. I cant wait to find out if he is able to do the same to Guerrero. If he is able to slow and eventually shut down a pressure fighter the same way, i'll definitely be impressed. Undoubtedly, the application of his style is undefeatable....

    Watch Judah's footwork!

Notice how Judah moves his lead foot QUICKLY to the outside of Floyd's lead foot before delivering the punch?

    His footwork is excellent here.

An Orthodox fighter can (and often does) the same move (in reverse)against the southpaw.

Floyd knows very well how to handle a Southpaw.

The "Philly shell" stance has very little to do with it.

In the above case Floyd was simply out hustled.

Everything a southpaw does an Orthodox fighter can do.

Lead rights (which Floyd likes to throw) can also work well against southpaws.

And of course the overhand right (See: Marquez KO Pacquiao) also work well against southpaws, PROVIDED the footwork and positioning is there.:bbb

Guerrero is a beast compared to Corley, Judah, or Ortiz. Being southpaw has absolutely nothing to do with it. It's not like Guerrero will outbox him. Only realistic chance is walking Floyd down, but of course I don't blame majority not giving RG a chance since he hasn't been at 147 for too long. But he had a damn good chin vs Berto. RG lookin like he carrying around a middleweight chin looks like Abraham Lincoln.
