That doesnt mean that...if you have ever been around a gym you would know people learn things different ways and have different methods for achieving a goal. Some people are visual learners and some are more hands on...

Its pretty dumb to think there is one way of preparing for opponents...I can't believe people are so close minded... Lots of fighters do not study tapes...it works for some and some it doesnt.

I thought that was common sense...Just because you do not study tapes doesnt mean you don't follow a gameplan or that your trainer doesnt study the tapes and come up with a game plan...

Uhhh, it's not hard to believe that. It actually make since he don't. U can make a mistake by studying someone style and get stuck trainning for that style. That's why he's the best when it comes to ad******g to fights. Training for one style can limited u.

come on guys it's obviously dependent on the level of opponent he's fighting. Oscar, Mosley, im pretty sure floyd would had watch footage of them. I doubt he bothered watching Marquez. No disrepect to Marquez but he was never a threat with so much advantages going towards floyd already.

If Floyd Sr. and Roger don't watch video's, its probably because they hocked their vid players off for some crack.

Floyd watches Video's, otherwise he wouldn't be so hesitant to sign the contract vs Manny or even Shane.

But there is a different between watching a fight as a fan and studying it to create a gameplan.

Look at it this way in the amateurs its likely fight footage won't be available of many of your opponents so you have to go in the ring with a strategy that probably isn't tailored to their style.

What do you do, PANIC. No you just do the things you worked on that make you a better fighter. Also, watching tape can lead to you training for exaclty what an opponent is learning to not do in a 10 week camp.

Just ask Foreman about that after his fight with Ali.

Roger has said that he watches tapes on the opponents and then he trains Floyd accordingly

Floyd trusts Roger's judgment so I can believe that Floyd does not actually sit there and study his opponent. Floyd has the biggest ego in all of sports...lol Something like that would go against his esteem. He usually comes out and does the same thing especially as of late so it is believable.

  11. Damn, its some serious haters out here. If that man had a certain strategy for wiping his ass you guys would start a thread hating on it.

I don't know If I beleve Mayweather or not when he claims not to watch film of his opoents.
The best evidence to him telling the truth is that he is can be a slow starete even giving away rounds and adapiting mid fight.
However from what I can tell Mayweather prepares for his fights with an obesion that even for the most decataed and displened is very rare. It would surprise me that some one like Mayweather did not watch video of his opoents.. His slow starts could be due to the fact that at his best he is a counter puncher.
Another reason I suspect that Mayweather is being less than honest when he says he dose not watch film is that he wants people to think there are weeknes in his game that they can exploite.

They both funny as hell. I think both of them are good, I'd be happy to have either of them train me!
