Mayweather's Jab to the Body

    It would be the punch that would have controlled Margarito for those clamoring that Margarito would just run through Mayweather. Margarito isn't accurate enough or have the hand speed to stop it. And it would open up any punch Mayweather wanted to throw. Margarito would just come forward walking into traps all night hoping to plant Mayweather against the ropes. And sometimes he would be successful but he wouldn't be able to hit Mayweather enough consistently to effectively use his volume style.

    I agree with Philla though that it won't work that well vs Pac due to Pac's hand speed and combination throwing. Unless Mayweather had Pac's timing down and used it to set up something of his own.

    Like I've said before, the jab to the body is risky against southpaws, but that's were the straight right comes in

    Skimmed through the thread..

    When Floyd got knocked down by Judah it wasn't a jab to the body. I don't think he jabs to the body much against Southpaws, actually. Therefore, bringing may vs pac in the discussion is pointless...

    Beautiful punch nonetheless, especially with feints

    Not exactly a straight to the body, but Mann is caught leaning in, a position similar in balance had he thrown one to the body. Louis was not exactly the guy you wanted to be caught dead doing this.

    Floyd never 'fights' . He always boxes. He real quick, and clever, but he does the same 3 or 4 moves all the time.
