He got to his level of popularity on being a badass, being a villain... and now more than ever people are hating on him and wanting to see him knocked out.
It can only doing wonders for his viewing numbers for his next fight, like him or hate him you know you will be watching his next fight praying he gets ktfo no matter who he fights.

As for boxing they are talking about this all over espn, the sports pundits are debating if it was right or not and arguing about it. When was the last time boxing got this much attention on a national level? if he would have won a boring UD the fight barely would have even got a mention on the national sports shows.

The KO was very funny and Ortiz deserved it. HOWEVER, you are caught up in the WWE ****. I would have liked to see the fight continue, Ortiz was mentally quitting anyway. This is boxing, I wanted to see more of it. 70 dollars? Hahaha, no chance, I wasn't dumb enough to pay for this.

Its not about that, if he would have gone on and won "without controversy", there would have been barely a whisper about the fight on the talk shows and espn. He probably has more haters than ever now, and the people that hated him will hate him even more and want to see him lose more than ever. His popularity will go up even more now, and im sure he will make even more money and get more views for his next fight.

Agreed. This is the sort of thing that entertains people, boxing fans or not. Kind of like NASCAR crashes.

This can only help the sport, weird as that may be.
