Did it allow his body to heal and re new his passion? OR was it just a waste of time meaning now that he is older and is going to find it harder to make weight? Or did it not do anything?
I believe what he says in it helped him is true....I have been in my job for 7 years and I could also use a 18 month break..I would have a lot more fun when I came back for 1...2...I wouldn't be worn out when I came back..
the fact that he wasn't able to make 144 shows the layoff did slightly hinder him physically. He himself said he didn't feel sharp in the fight (I don't see how). But he should be 100% after another camp.
It helps him one way but hurts him another way. I think he needs some rest to heal but I do see a few ring rust from his latest fight.
Help. Let some of the hand problems recover, got rid of a few niggles, meant he had some time to get a little more settled at the higher weight without the intensity of training, also I think the bigger benefit was just clearing the head space and getting out of the picture for a few years, not having to protect his P4P #1 crown. Came back with renewed motivation and a potential mega fight in the wings, so yeah, I think it helped.
Floyd said he needed some time off mentally to be with his family and to give his body some time to recuperate. Based on that and his flawless performance in his return-fight, it either helped or he is the same. I suspect it helped.
:huh thats just stupid. The guy had been out for 2 years with something like 160lbs+ stuck to his body, Its terribly hard to cut weight in that situation. People, like Pac, who move weight constantly find it much easier going up or down.
