    Anybody throw anything like it?

Any tips on how to throw it? Seems to me you'd need great handspeed to get away with it without getting tagged.

He usually fakes the first which makes his opponent move his right hand in front to parry then its free for the left hook.

To pull of things Mayweather can do - Train extremely hard for 20 years, with expert coaches.

Floyds got a serious problem of throwing his hook with his thumb up and elbow down. As good as he is, he is suspect to the counter right. Corley and Mosley nearly derailed the gravy train. Make sure you throw it right.

I use it sometimes in sparring, it's not as difficult as it looks actually. A guy I spar a lot uses them as well, we always make it a point to humiliate the other with a RJJ/FM lead hook.

So you guys think this is a no-go area for a guy with little experience?

Its just that I have done a lot of time on the basis and am getting a bit bored, I want a new punch! :p

Any suggestions, if this is too hard?

It's supremely easy to land, just hard to land with any degree of power. For example, those hooks that Floyd dropped Chico with...that'd be hard to do.

A way to help set it up is to point your lead foot in the direction of the hook's trajectory slightly before you throw it. Roger showed me this himself way back when.

It's hard to get power on it and still be quick but it can be a nice punch to use to drop the straight in.

If you can throw all the normal punches then you should obviously add to your arsenal.

Yeah, I agree, I'm just wondering if this is the right one to add. Don't want to commit if there's something easier/more effective for me out there.

    Cool avy btw! :good

If you know the standard shots to the head and body then I would start by adding a right hand lead and leaping left hook. As long as you don't get carried away, hands low, firing them from 6 metres away then they are very effective punches.

    Pretty muh my thoughts exactly.

I love mayweather's pull counter, but I don't have quick enough reflexes so Ill just work on that move as a lead.

The leaping left hook is great fun! Kind of ended up half doing it when i was trying Mayweather's lead left, because I couldn't get enough power.

Who has a good leaping left hook to model? RJJ?

Yep, he'd have to counter the straight left
