No one outside of boxing knows him now Like the HS quarterback said when he was asked who it was on the screen in a sports affair " That's that funny little dwarf guy who fought the Big Show on WWE" LOL
Didn't change at all for me and frankly I don't think that should count as the fight that broke Marciano's record. It feels like a cheap padded victory to me. I'm glad he didn't tarnish boxing by fighting safely.
Do you know of any other fighter besides Castillo and Emanuel Augustus who landed as many punches on Floyd as Connors did?
After two years of easy living( and I mean real easy living ) tapping ass and spending cash. A forty year old legend stepped in the ring for his last hurrah and showed the world that he is worthy of being one of the best that ever did it. He didn't come to give any boxing lessons but to kick ass and that is precisely what he did. He had Mcgreggor on his back foot for most of the fight, mind you, a man that said he would plant his foot in the middle of the ring and not be budged. Instead he was backing up like he took personal lessons from Amir Khan. Mayweather is no joke and no coward. He took the constant rabbit punching, the low blow and the holding and hitting all in stride and didn't falter in his mission to beat the brakes off and stop Mcgreggor.
Floyd is just overrated when it comes to the best fighters of all time. However, he is definitely one of the best defensive fighters of all time. I will give him that. Right there with Wille Pep and Sweet Pea, although Floyds defense is different. And definitely, the best promoter of all time which is a fact given he has made easily the most money. But it stops there. Floyd has always been about his no loss record and the money. And I feel which includes ducking fighters at times throughout his career to protect that. There have been other fighters to retire with no losses. I think 15 in all and I put Floyd in that group because the no loss isn't as impressive to me as the complete body of work. Floyd was never the I'll fight anyone anytime type of Boxer. He was always, for the most part, the calculated boxer to protect his no loss. When I think of the no loss fighters, I rank Floyd equal with a Joe Calzaghe. He retired 46-0, beating B hop, Roy Jones, Manfredo jr. , etc.... Sorry I'm just not a Mayweather fan
I felt that Mayweather's record fell short by thousands of miles of what Rocky Marciano has accomplished. If he fought a Spence or a Thurman, yeah.
said it before the fight, its a circus and its going to be a fun event and wont have any sway on his legacy
He's 40 against a 29 year old who was bigger and lacked experience. What would a remotely intelligent boxer do in that spot? Let them blow the wad and lay it on them when they are gassed. That is what happened. As for the fight taking place, hey, I said from day one I'd rather have a rematch with Berto, but everyone knows why it happened. It happened for the same reason so many other fights happen and also don't happen; public interest.
Maidana officially landed 221 in their first bout, though in truth it was likely more, some have counted as high as 244. Even at 221, he by far landed the most. Oscar landed 122, which was more than Connor supposedly.
No change to his legacy, massive change to his bank balance. His 50th fight he dominated a novice as he shoulda done. His other 49 fights that made his legacy hasnt gone anywhere.
Void's legacy is that he beat a person that was not a boxer, a person who was making his boxing debut, his record was 0-0-0.......................who was not ranked at all...................a non-boxer......................a joke................Void left boxing with the circus!
