Have we seen enough of Floyd Jr over the past 2 years to confidnetly evaluate his current abilities. Marquez was far from his best fighting at welterweight and Ortiz is a wild card. Floyd is always in shape and it serves him well.

I knew someone would notice the bullets I put in Floyds knees.

Can't say his legs are shot without knowing.

his legs are not SHOT. has he slowed down because of age? yep. i agree that his legs arent what they used to be, but he still does a pretty good job @ evading punches. when his reflexes start to fail him, then he will be in trouble. but anyway, i like this new Mayweather that walks people down, stays in the pocket, yet still defensive. even his haters cant deny that his fights are more exciting.

Cellz is dead on here. Mayweather is staying in the pocket more. He was actually busting Ortiz up in the second/third round (I forget which). Lateral movement has replaced going backwards.

Is it a result of age? weight? bigger, slower opponents? Probably all of the above. But his footwork is fine. Different, but fine.

His legs aren't shot. He is just older. Naturally your legs go in boxing, but other reflexes are sharpened to make up for the loss of mobility. You don't box like you're 25 when your 35.

Even if Floyds legs were shot, you think that Floyd couldn't beat Cotto fighting flatfooted? You must be drunk. Floyd will beat Cottos ass boxing or brawling. Floyd isn't running anywhere. Cotto can land all the leg shots he wants, he has no right hand.

There setting up excuses if Mayweather loses. I think people realize Cotto is not only the best fighter he's probably going to ever get in the ring with but that Cotto has the "timing" and speed to hit him more than most fighters, that's what I think it is.

Yeah we'll see. Hopefully you won't have any about Mayweather if the fight is close. I can already see it now. Your gonna say Mayweather is past his prime.

I don't know if his legs are shot, but one night i decided to watch just his footwork in two fight to see how he moves around while holding his defensive stance so well. I watched him vs De La Hoya and Him vs Mosley and the foot speed and dexterity is majorly different , mostly due to style but of course his legs aren't going to be what they use to be with older age and more weight on him. Not every one can leap weight classes without change.
