Cotto has developed a quick, solid, right hand punch, often used as a counter, and already has one of the best jabs in the sport, and along with excellent lateral mobility, and sharp and precise punches that are usually in combination, and fast offensive reaction timing. That's a dangerous fighter. Along with that, he has some tricks up his hand that his team won't reveal. Mayweather will have to predict the unpredictable to get out of this fight clean.
With that said, Cotto better be ready for Floyd to have his legs cuz if not, SURPRISE, Mayweather has his legs, and he's got tricks of his own as well. Believe me, Cotto may have a lot going for him, but Mayweather has it all. So, Cotto should train as if Floyd is an unstoppable machine. Don't perceive him to be weak in anyway, in fact the opposite, train as if he he has every advantage over you. We'll see. This is a good fight. This is a real fight. Cotto doesn't come to play around. I've never seen a Cotto opponent come out a win, lookin clean. With that said, Believe this will be a good fight. If Floyd manages to dominate Cotto, it will be a phenomenal feat. That's all I'll say.
They're not gone, but aren't what they once were. That said, he's actually getting hit less than he did back in the day. He used to use his legs to get outta the way after firing 5-6 punch combos. He's simply adapted his style to one or two punches at a time, which doenst give give his opponents counter opportunities. Very smart on his part. And he's able to do it because he's so technically sound.
he fights boxers that are abused mince meat so his leg problem wont be noticed. do not be surprised if cotto makes him looks very ordinary
Does it really matter if they are or not? He's still dominating. The only difference is, now he stands right in front of his opponents and beat the **** out of them while still making them look foolish...lol
Who was a threat at 147 ? why was he fighting anyone besides Manny, Cotto, Sergio, Clottey, margarito, williams ? He should have never been fighting such opponents. ortiz - haha mosley - inactive hatton - lost to luis colazo jmm - first fight above 135 with scale cheat
He is just older, like any other veteran in any other sport, When you have athletes like, Floyd, B-Hop, ill even throw some basketball players in the mix, M. Jordan, K. Bryant etc. When you have athletes who have enormous I Q's in their respective sports, and those natural gifts start fading away a bit, they can rely on the technical aspect of the sport, for example Juan Manuel Marquez. So loosing a bit a speed or bounce in their legs is not as detrimental to them, as it would be for your average or slightly above average athlete. So take a fighter like Roy Jones who was a supreme athlete, as soon as those gifts start declining he became pretty average, because he never had to rely on technical part of the sport. With Floyd "so far" it has not mattered.
Ortiz- Nine years Floyd youth, coming off of a big win and was champion. Mosley- This fight could of happen ten years early if Shane accepted Floyd calling him out then. None the less Mosley was coming off a win and was consider a major threat up until that point. Hatton- A fighter who never faced defeat, in his prime and was considered by many to give Floyd a problem with his aggressive style. JMM- Although he was fighting out of his weight class for the first time, he was the number three fighter on the p4p list. Who gave the #1 p4p guy (Pacquiao) major problems in three fights, one being at the age of 38yrs old...lol. Floyd shut him down every round after coming off of a two year lay off. If your going to point out the negative you mine as well point out the positive as well....:bbb
