rounds 10-12...floyd uses his legs and moves around maidana easily. again...maidana doesn't land **** but starts to eat more punches.

there's nothing that leads me to believe he doesn't have legs. especially when he moves so effortlessly in the closing rounds. floyd did exactly what he wanted to do in the fight despite maidanas rough housing and cheap shots. i used to believe that is what it would take to take floyd out of his game. floyd proved that theory wrong. i am now convinced the only way to beat him is to knock him out.

Bingo. Totally agree, but don't see it happening. For all his braggadocios antics, Floyd's a boxing geek. He works his ass off and it shows.

It's a tactic that totally fucc&ed Floyd's timing up

Floyd couldn't get any rhythm until round seven

The high low jab meant Floyd was really struggling so whe went into turtle shell mode

And Marcos could feint high lows and push Floyd into the ropes where he opened upand really did some damage

Crazy to think such a simple tactic destroyed one of the best defense technicians who ever boxed

Wrong game plan, especially the first 5 rounds of his fight with Maidana.

I think FLoyd proved to everyone in his 2 previous fights before Maidana that he still has a lot left in his legs. His fight with Guerrero was a masterpiece, anytime he was close to getting pinned on the ropes he showed everyone how elite his footwork still is as well as his lateral movement.

The only 2 fights of his that I can remember in recent years where FLoyd didn't utilize the entire ring and decided to sit in the pocket a lot more than he normally does at WW/JMW was against Miguel Cotto and Maidana. The interesting thing is before both of those specific fights, he kept saying over and over to media pundits that he wasn't going to move around too much and he would exchange in the pocket. He was a man of his word for both of those fights, but he shouldn't normally fight like that at these higher weights. It actually makes him susceptible to getting hit back when he stands in the pocket for too long.

Let's see what he does in his next matchup against whoever it is. I'd imagine he'll revert back to his style that had him dominate The Ghost and Alvarez.
