Canelo has 42 victories and in the fights I've seen of his the majority of his opponents were fighting scared. Austin Trout in particular fought a scared fight evidenced by pulling his punches afraid to get hit. Floyd I feel actually capitalized on Shane Mosley's tactics which was to walk Canelo down, fight fearless, commit to punches, and counter his shots. Unfortunately for Shane he was too shot to be effective but Mayweather saw the chip in the iron. Canelo is clearly used to his opponents being scared and intimidated. Floyd was having none of that, he only backed up when he wanted to, retreated when he wanted, and attacked whenever he picked his spots. Floyd controlled the action in the ring, in fact he actually did the (SRL) 30 second thing and stole a few rounds.

Also when Floyd came forward and walked Canelo down, Saul didnt know what to do. No plan B, C, or D. I believe this kid honestly thought he'd land some big punches, Floyd will taste his power, retreat, get scared, and lay down like Josesito Lopez. The only tactic I saw Canelo employ was he tried to put his weight on Floyd a few times in the clinch but it was ineffective.

Well it was ineffective because Canelo was weight drained and weighed 7 lbs less than he did against Trout due to the Catchweight!

    Bull****.

He weighed in at 153 for Trout, ONE whole pound heavier than against Floyd. The weight wasn't an issue at all.

He weighed 7 pound heavier on fight night. It was said it was a tactic because Trout is strong on the inside.
But I agree one pound would not have saved him from that last night

Not to mention Floyd was only 150 lbs while Trout and Canelo where both over 170

Canelo had no answer for Mayweather's jab. Floyd's jab controlled the fight and won it for him. Everything else was setup off of that jab and feints of course.

    Just IMO.

He weighed 172 lbs on fight night vs Trout. He weighed 165 lbs on fight night vs FMJ. That's the equivalent of an entire weight division!

Yeah, I'm still scratching my head as to what Canelo's game plan was? He tried to outbox Floyd for most of the contest. Even when Mayweather went to the ropes, Canelo's "killer combos" were rendered ineffective. That had to be disheartening.

I'm a Floyd fan but I like Canelo. I hope he can move past this. I'm sure it was a tough pill to swallow last night. He really had no idea what he was in for.

the weight was not an issue.
Alvarez looked like he had more energy than hid did in the late rounds with Trout.
He was not drained just simply not at Floyd's level.
    WOW BIG SURPRISE!!!!

How do you know that wasn't a tactic?

I'm sure Arum is trying to make a Canelo fight at 147 in the same manner Pac fought a severely weight drained DLH. MAYBE your foolish gibberish will stop then.

The Jab was awesome and Canelo act like he dont believe in blocking jabs, Floyd could hit him at will, they say his defense had improved vs Trout but I believe that was due to Trout fighting scared.

That's complete nonsense. First of all Canelo made it clear that 147 is not possible at this point. Second of all, Arum had nothing to do with this card. This is what happens when you allow Floyd Mayweather's team to dicate all the terms and make a mockery of the sport.

I didn't hear Canelo cry about a single thing after the fight. Canelo didn't think it was unfair in any way, and was classy in defeat; So why do you disagree with the guy who actually fought last night?

It's hard to figure out what happened with Canelo I think he tries to box Floyd and not fall into his traps and just wasn't fast enough. He was cliniced but not battered

Canelo could have sold out and landed some bombs and took a few rounds but get battered and I just don think he was willing to go all out and just didn't know how to get to Floyd

By 6 or 7 Canelo needed to start looking to finish Floyd and build toward a stoppage and just wouldn't or couldn't

On a sidenote Canelo made it interesting early by making Floyd lead and made him think by not opening up and I think he showed poise early

I wonde if the event got to him he looked nervous in the dressing room
