At first Floyd said yes to 50-50 then sent Arum to tell Shaw that he's changing it to 55-45. Winky also agreed to Floyds demand that he can't go past 154 on a morning weight.... here, read it yourself,..... but bottom line, Floyd also ducked Winky. :good http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=2113721
The thing is, when he does shtick like that, you can see him acting. You can see that he's being fake, that he's not like Ali or his old man for whom it's natural to goof around like that. You can see him pushing himself to be that way.
Bottom line, JWWs can't duck MWs. It's amazing that Mayweather gets killed for fighting a guy two divsions below him, and then people kill him for not fighting a guy 3 divisions above him. Which one is it?
.......... "Floyd's been talking a lot of trash, saying he's going to knock Winky out; he told Kevin Iole he wants to fight," said Shaw. "He wanted the fight on Sunday. On Monday I went to Top Rank's office personally. My feeling is that Floyd never wanted the fight. He was just talking smack." ............ Kinda' reminds me of how this proposed Pac-Mayweather unfolded. :good
Nah, even if Wright wouldve taken the 55-45 split, Floyd probably still wouldnt have fought him. Too big. However, all Pacquiao had to do was take a drug test, Floyd even gave him 14 days instead of a day before the fight, and Pacquiao still declined. Mayweather then went to fight Mosley a fighter widely seen as more dangerous then Pacquiao. Completely different situations. Pacquiao killed the Mayweather fight.
Yeah, and there's no way that a promoter would exaggerate and/or lie to make his fighter look better.
Here's something you've probly never heard before. At the mediation, Pac agreed to go down from 30 to 24. Floyd said "NO" and that was it. Arum gave them a deadline and they let it pass. Floyd did not re-offer the 14 days until one day after the fight was pronounced dead. .... but I also have a feeling that if Pac agreed to 14 days Floyd would then have additional demands. After reading all of what went down, IMO, Floyd did not want it at that time. He was just bluffing. :good
Nope 14 days was on the table from near day 1. Pac went from 30-24, Floyd went from 1-14. Who made the greater compromise? 24 days isnt near long enough according to most Phd's for testing for steroids anyway. Doubt it. Floyd agreed to Pacquiaos 10 million dollar weight penalty. Pacquiao couldnt take a 24 million dollar drug test. Again Mosley is considered the more dangerous fighter. Why would he be afraid of Pacquiao?
Coz PAC is a well oiled offensive machine, throws punches in bunches at any angles, fast southpaw, relentless, high workrate, much younger, tons of hearts and guts, etc. (as compared to Mosley)
