His ability to take a punch, sure he doesnt get hit a whole lot but when he does, not only does he take it well but he comes back even stronger. Reminisce, he got buzzed by Corley and Mosley but hes never really been hurt, Mayweathers chin is not Chuvalo/Lamotta quality, but **** can that man take a shot.
I don't know about it being cast iron, because we very rarely see him get hit clean. However those times that he has been hit, he has responded well so I'd say it's solid.
he s tough as hell. his ability to not only take a shot- but to take a shot and still think, not panic, defend intelligently, counter quickly- just stay composed under fire. almost every fighter when they get hit- either cover up , or retaliate unintelligently. floyd always stays the course and does the right thing if he gets clipped- which is why we rarely see him clipped twice in a row. the guys a special special fighter.
I think this is what the "haters" are having a hard time accepting. Floyd took the best Cotto and others had and still emerged victorious. He has the heart of a lion.
I'd say his body, is his most underrated asset. He gets hit there far more often than he does his chin.
Floyd takes a great shot to the head and body, though this is not commented on as he is so rarely caught clean
Iron chin, iron body, iron heart. Floyd Mayweather is a fighter that's made of more iron than the Brooklyn Bridge
...his entrourage. ****stin Bieber and HHH cheering on the ringside made Floyd boost his stamina. I was hoping Bigshow would just suddenly appear from under the ring and pummel Floyd with a steel chair.
In one of the middle rounds when Floyd was on the ropes, he tried hooking with the hooker. Cotto(e) ends up timing him and catching him with a hook as Floyd tried to hook. Floyd just took it like it was nothing. Cotto(e) isn't the hardest puncher, but I was impressed at how he wasn't even bothered by a punch like the hook from someone with a heavy left hand.
