Mayweather's new Signature punch the Check Hook.

nothing new, he's been walking guys into that left hook for years. hatton just had the misfortune of lunging forward face first, which is what made the shot dramatic.

 

Anyone on this board that uses the term 'check hook' is a ****ing gaylord trying to make out as if they know their stuff. all i saw was a counter left hook, nothing new.

 

he was throwing that hook plenty as baldomir, he always throws it against aggressive fighters. it would make baldomir rethink his attack at time, it breaks the opponents rythm and now mayweather has found out that if he puts abit of venom behind it, he could spark you too!

 

Forget about this signature "check hook", it's nothing new in his arsenal. It's all about drooling- for Floyd- that has resulted after Hatton turned out to be a midget. Floyd remains a skinny kid that needs to watch what levels he thinks he can conquer.

His sig. punch is still the straight right. He throws it with precision and throws it often.

Honestly, this guy throws every punch in the book. He doesn't have a sig. punch. I love the straight right though. He rarely misses with that thing.

 

Never heard the term "check hook" till this fight, is that like Bruce Lee using the term stop Hit? WTF. Also some call a punch that's in between a hook and uppercut a shovel punch or hook " symantics" . BTW Hagler hit Hamsho with a right in fight 2 that looked like a "check hook" back in the 80's. Was just a well timed hook on an opponent coming in no fancy name.

Throwing punches has been around since the start of time, whats with the new name.
