Mayweather is such a bellend. Great fighter, an ATG, one of the best to ever lace them up, fun to watch back in his Pretty Boy days, but man, acting like that loss means anything is absurd. Ali was physically worn out and sick by then. Any decent version of Ali would have won, and '66 or '74 Ali would have won via stoppage.

Here, Mayweather, let me help you make an actual argument for Ail not being the greatest -- he was decisively beaten by a prime Joe Frazier, in a way that leads one to question whether any version of Ali could have beat that version of Frazier. And this isn't even bringing up Ken Norton, who under fairer judging arguably would have won all three times. How can one be the greatest when he had TWO guys who, at their best, could give any version of him a really, really rough night?

Note -- I'm just playing Devil's Advocate. But if I wanted to discredit Ali without sounding like a total knob, this is how I'd do it.

An unfortunate physical limitation. Without that limitation, he'd have fit right in back in the day and racked up a crazy number of wins as well.

Mayweather is a great great fighter, but as a man, he is deeply insecure.

It is not enough for him to have beaten his opponents, he feels the need to belittle them years after the event.

Even champions with egos the size of a house, and a lot of water under the bridge, don't generally do that.

It even seems to get to him, that some people think that Ray Robinson, or Ray Leonard were greater.

I am reminded of teh line in the song by 10cc:

"Howard Hughes, did your money make you better?"
