He's always had a weird thing about berto. He's fought many fighters who beat berto so he's used him as like a gate keeper for judging who is worthy of fighting him and finally he wants to fight him for his last farewell fight. I think he likes the way berto fights and admires and wishes he could fight like that if winning wasn't so important to him.

Partially correct on a few points. It was originally a build up for Haymon to have a mega fight with a fighter that he made from the ground up. 2 undefeated, prime, fighters. It went wrong so fast though. Berto was the original comeback championship fight plan for Mayweather. He just needed a good solid name in Ortiz.
I think he fancies him tbh and wants to see him half naked in the ring with him, only explanation I can think of as to why he wants to fight berto
How someone so good who is one of the best defensive fighters of all time can fight someone so bad and so often not challenge himself.
hahah but now he fights him after he lost to ortiz and Guerrero and lost 3 of last 6 fights. To me, Floyd is just saying F U to the fans. There is no other explanation. He knows this will just give the world more ammo to say he's a cherry picker. In the past he would pick those cherries ever so carefully, now he's just walking right up to the tree and picking the biggest cherry of all.
