Hell gotta agree with wins thru TKO's as apposed to KO's, although he's got enough on his punches to make you think twice about just walking thru him-----funny I seem to remember at 135lbs against the late Chico --everytime he decked Chico--Chico got up more embarrased than hurt--after the 3rd KD Chico went crazy cause his father stopped the fight.
PBF can stop Hatton if he goes to the body consistently, or on cuts...Hatton has a strong beard, but i want to see someone go to his body regularly...
i think this is a good point.something always sticks in my mind about ricky.it was in his 24th fight when he fought british light welterweight champ jason rowland and he stopped rowland in the 4th round with body shots, but earlier in the round rowland twice hurt ricky downstairs and rowland wasn't a particularily big hitter 14 stoppages in 28 fights.urango also gave him problems down below.i don't think anyone has tried a sustained strategy downstairs against ricky mainly because his opponents are always on the back foot.i do know that floyd stopped an admitedly over the hill sharmba mitchell with a bodyshot, and i don't think mayweathers power should be underestimated.
If he catches Hatton with a well-placed unexpected shot from long range like those three consecutive left counters Collazo unleashed on Ricky into mid round 12 in Boston, Mayweather finishes him by a barrage on the ropes cause he can put em together much better and faster than Collazo - check Mayweather vs Manfredy - but he definitely can't drop Hatton with one counter shot.
Yeah, his legs buckled on that one. Damn those were quick ass counters. Also, if you look, Hoya brought his left hook from his waist.....not very good technique. I think that was a combination of a perfectly placed punch Hoya didn't see and Oscar moving in. He wasn't really hurt though.
I was watching Floyd / Gatti with a girl 2 nights ago. I guess I don't really realize or notice anymore because I'm just used to watching him, but she was amazed at how fast he was. He was unreal in that fight, literally just standing there and moving his head like an inch to avoid punches. Made Gatti look like an 'outclassed' sparring partner.
When your mother waxes her stash and trades the workboots in for flats, she looks much less manly :yep
PBF has power, but relating this to his K.O. precentage is just senile. The guy doesn't intend to knock out everybody he fights . . . he is a boxer . . . a smart boxer . . . all he wanted is to win fights . . . so if he can win fights without mixing it up and getting bruised himself . . . why will he.
Both stopped on accumulation, he had average power in 130, average at 135 and 140. At 147 and above though, it's next to none, to be quite honest. Nothing wrong with making a man wave the white flag, but honestly.. he's not got KO power, he's got enough to make a man stop on accumulation, but not one punch, unless it's Mitchell taking it to the solar plexus.
Speed is power and Mayweather has speed in abundance. If he stayed in the pocket and planted his feet we`d see more KO`s.But thats not his style his a boxer first. The kid can punch at the weight thats real.
This content is protected Two right counters at the temple and jaw 1:20 -1:19 s left on the timer round 5. Lightning fast and with scarce leverage, heavy shots though.
