If there is a contract in place guaranteeing the fight after GGG beats Lara, I believe he will comply. I don't think he will just move down for a high risk/low reward opponent hoping it will land a Mayweather fight.

There won't be such a contract but don't you agree that Golovkin should show he can fight and be a force at a weight he hasn't fought at his whole professional career before he can push for a fight against Mayweather? You say Lara is low reward/high risk. Well so is Golovkin at this point in time. Lara is calling Golovkin out. He should take the junior middleweight belt from him, make his name bigger and place himself in a better position to call Mayweather out.

I always said Floyd doesn't "have to" fight GGG, and it won't be "ducking" if he doesn't. But when Floyd says he can rather easily beat GGG, he puts himself in a position where he has to prove it. GGG is a P4P king and he doesn't need to establish himself in a division before qualifying for a fight, he can fight Ward or Canelo right away before establishing himself at 168 or 154. He's not a formerly exposed fighter as Dawson. He's not as low reward as Lara either. He will add to Floyd's legacy a great deal. Moreover age is not a factor in this fight. When Floyd claims he's better than Ali, he says Ali lost to Spinks, when in fact Ali was nearing his 40's when that happened. As such Floyd suggests a great fighter must be in top condition even with the age factor. So there, go on and prove it. That's expected of you to live up to your TBE claims.

No, he doesn't. Golovkin says he will fight anyone from 154 to 168. Does he have to prove it? Forget that "TBE" stuff. Mayweather says that to get the rabble excited and even if he believed it, so what? Beating Cotto again does more for Mayweather's resume at this point in time than beating the paper title holder Golovkin. To honest, at this point in time, there is no reason for him to even consider Golovkin. Golovkin is not even the most relevant fighter at 160 and certainly wouldn't bring in as much money as Cotto or Alvarez would.

If that's how you see boxing, ok then, let's leave it at that.

Cotto is the most relevant fighter at 160. He may or may not be the best but he is certainly the most relevant. I am not even sure how good Golovkin is at this point in time but, yeah, let's leave it at that.
