I'll be honest. I'm one of those people who have been using the "young hungry lion" line to hype up Ortiz. This thread made be laugh.

ortiz is p4p top 5 punchers in the sport. knocked down around 90% of his opponents in the first 4 rounds. has good speed and showed he now has the heart and stamina to last 12 rounds. he's also bigger than floyd both in height and build.

at the very least this fight is dangerous for mayweather. even if his style is tailor made for floyd he still has ko potentail at any time in the fight. floyd better be on his toes.

Hype up Ortiz all you want. You can't escape the fact that it's an 8 to 1 fight and that Ortiz has recently been crushed and struggled against 140lbers.

Exactly...At 140 he had a glass jaw and people with NO POWER has even knocked him down..Madaina has NO POWER and desTROYED Ortiz....I judge Ortiz by what he's capable of at Welter...NO ONE can hurt him at this class...NO ONE...And HE can hurt EVERYONE....Ortiz isnt number 3 for nuthing...If Floyd wasnt fighting Pac then who should he fight at welter?...The number three and Ortiz can KILL mayweather with One punch...Im tired of Haters....Ortiz is WAAAAAY Better than Cotto and Marg in their prime and He would deSTROY those guys....He throws too many punches and them fighting him would be like them fighting a BIGGER BETTER Pacman...the asswhoopin would be on a WHOLE New lvl tho cuz Ortiz wouldnt be running around with that in and out bul****...he comes to fight and go to war!!

    Haha, this thread is great.

Just because Floyd is favored to win doesn't mean Ortiz isn't a young lion for real, and a great pick for an opponent.

And you can't escape the fact that literally every boxing pundit that's spoken about this fight have spoke favorably of it. The only people who ***** about this fight are jealous Manny fans, simple and plain.

I am completely in favor of this fight, I think Mayweather chose a good opponent. It's just funny to watch *****s on this site hype Ortiz up the second Floyd signed to fight him.

I can only speak for myself, but I'm excited about the fight and I have said from the jump I believe Ortiz is going to give Floyd a competitive fight. Of course I favor PBF but I'd favor him against anyone he could fight outside of Martinez. I think it's refreshing to see Floyd in with a young champion, and the reason why...because Ortiz hasn't topped out and is on his way down. Manny and Floyd were young champions at one time too...who knows what the future holds for Ortiz, maybe he fizzles out, but maybe just maybe you see this young champion rise up and do something special. Not many folks gave Jermain Taylor a chance either...to this day I give BHop credit for giving him the chance as opposed to fighting a "used to be", "a never was", or an imposter. When was the last time Manny/Floyd took a fight against someone with the potential to be something great?
