Floyd haters like to say that he is scared and that he ducks fighters, but I believe that reputation is undeserved. As it pertains to Manny, I think that Floyd has nothing to fear from Manny Pacquiao. His uncles, and Floyd himself all believe that Pac is a limited fighter and an easy victory for Floyd. Either Floyd is scared and they all deserve academy awards for acting, or Manny has something to hide.

I know that you all feel that Floyd avoids tough fights. I would have liked to see him fight more at 147, and I would have enjoyed seeing him fight a guy like Cotto or Margarito but (as it has been documented on here) he tried to get a Cotto fight and Bob Arum said that Cotto was not ready. He was going to fight Margarito but went for the bigger money with Oscar. He tried to fight Shane back when Shane was top 3 p4p and Shane avoided Floyd. He again had Shane in his sights after the Judah fight (see article below).

The only ducking, or scared claim that Floyd haters have would be the Margarito fight but Floyd was more interested in fighting DLH for much bigger money! He didn't duck Margarito for fear of losing. Margarito would have been an easier fight I think than HOF De La Hoya at 154 I think (though maybe not with the hand wraps).

You can't say that he's scared when he has fought the exact same guys that Manny fought, and he fought them first, when they were coming off wins, and in much better standing. You can say that he was bigger than JMM but as Floyd said, JMM and Pac are about the same size and you all seem to think that Pac will destroy Floyd and they would be fighting Floyd at a higher weight! Once Manny loses, will he be too small? Will you say that Floyd weighed too much? :huh

It's so frustrating because Manny is a hero for defeating the same guys that Floyd beat first and now a shot Cotto. Don't think Cotto was shot? Freddie Roach said that Cotto was a shell of his former self, and that was before Manny fought him!

    http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2009/nov/12/freddie-roach-says-miguel-cotto-not-same-after-kno/

DLH was fresh from knocking out Mayorga, and everybody from Teddy Atlas to your boy Freddie Roach were calling for a knockout. Does anybody remember that Roach trained Oscar for that fight? The "master strategist" Freddie Roach was made to look like a clown that night. Now he says he knows how to beat him? Yes Manny is more gifted than Oscar speed and conditioning wise but DLH is a more complete fighter with more tools at his disposal.

Hatton had a great resume at the time (even though I was not impressed by him) and was undefeated when they fought. Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Calzaghe, and of course Oscar "wrong pick" DLH all picked Hatton to win. Remember the talk that Hatton would swarm Mayweather? Hatton was too strong. Hatton would impose his will on Floyd. :-(

The double standard is infuriating. Pac had some great fights at the lighter weights. So did Floyd. Pac struggled with JMM and Floyd coasted. Not because of 4 pounds, but because he's that much better. DLH outweighed Floyd by at least 10 pounds on fight night but nobody seems to remember that. Why would Floyd be afraid of a guy with sub-par defense who comes straight ahead? Manny is tailor-made for Floyd. Do you think Manny hits harder than a 162 pound DLH? Manny's speed? Floyd is just as fast, and if not, he knows how to combat speed. Is Manny faster than Zab Judah? If so it's not by much.

Floyd has an undeserved reputation. His public perception is that of a ducker who avoids tough fights but when you examine the facts you see that isn't the case. I've asked in several threads to name a guy that Floyd supposedly ducked and the only answer is Margarito. Yet he has this rep.

Floyd is not scared. I truly don't think that Manny is scared either. I think that Manny is doping. Why else avoid the tests? Why else would Arum ask about penalty fees if he tests dirty. Why else is Manny getting so worked up toward Mayweather and yet fighting a guy who charged him just as if not more vehemently? Pac's behavior doesn't add up.

Floyd is just a product of this era...He is really no different to most fighters around. He just happens to be the best fighter of his era and coupled with his not so likable demeanor outside of the ring people hold him to a higher standard.

You just cant afford to lose these days...fickle fans and networks drop you in a second.

Floyd has changed. Ever since coming back from retirement, and since becoming a viability welterweight he has just got lazy with his opposition. Well... let's just say he takes low risk-high reward. He won't ever fight Mosley, even though he's aging and probably since it's personal. And, it seems he won't fight Pac now. So who is he going to fight? His future doesn't look like it does anything for his legacy.

Nah, Mayweather is the one trying to change the rules of the sport. Until the fight happens, he has to - by any objective standard - be considered the one refusing the fight here.

Since when is it against the rules to ask for things in negotiation? Things that are not designed to give either fighter and advantage but to ensure a fair fight?

According to Arum and Schafer's Promoting Calendars, Pacquiao isn't scheduled to agree to the blood tests until early next week to later on in the week depending on how much more coverage this "story" gets on ESPN, etc.

just look at their history. who among pac and floyd has been consistently fighting tough oppositions and who has a reputation of a ducker? heck, pac even went first to fight an elite welter in just his 2nd fight at the weight while floyd hasnt fought a single elite welter in 4 years at the weight.

This isn't a "negotiation". It's a very obvious attempt to imply Pacquiao is taking illegal substances, and one has to conclude that such baseless allegations - instigated, suspiciously, by Mayweather's own father a few months back - are an attempt to stymie the contest.

Neither are fighting each other for silly reasons. So Floyd won't fight him (Because of the silly demands) and Pac won't fight Floyd (Because of not complying to silly demands). Simple.

PAc's last 4 opponents have all been cherry picked, so i'm not sure what you are going on about

Being a Pacquiao fan, I must agree with you that people hold him to higher standards and deservingly so. Hands down one of the best fighters of the decade, yet he was never really pushed to the limit. Was it because he was that good? Or was it because he never really took the biggest challenges? I personally think it's a combination of both. I posted the interview in the other thread...not sure which, but it's a perfect example of the excuses Mayweather comes out with whenever someone questions his *undefeated record.

    http://www.zshare.net/audio/676796581a1c2a9e/

I grew up on Tyson...then with Roy Jones, then became such a huge Floyd fan. My favoritism with Floyd peaked with his Corrales fight. When he started pumping up the ego, there went my appreciation for him.

In the interview, RA pretty much asked him every question that most Floyd fans/ Floyd haters wanted to ask him. He had the chance to be hands down the best fighter of the decade...just didn't turn out that way. There was a reason why Floyd never got any endorsement deals like other boxers. Not sure why Floyd never understood that.
