I'm rooting for him but it is a tall order. He has to put the pressure on and keep it hot for 12 rounds. He has to go right where Kotelnik went wrong. frankwarren.tv says: "It's going to be a big ask for a man who hasn't trained for a 12 round fight in six years. This is his debut at light-welterweight"
Rees looks really condifent, relaxed and ready for this. I still think it's a tall order for him to beat M'Baye - there must be a massive reach disadvantage for him so he needs to get inside. Gavin sometimes has trouble cutting the ring off so if M'Baye boxes sensibly early doors he could dominate. Would love to see Chinky win though!
''It's going to be a big ask for a man who hasn't trained for a 12 round fight in six years. This is his debut at light-welterweight'' HOW ON EARTH DID YOU GET HIM A SHOT THEN FRANK?!!!
This content is protected Damn he's short! The WBA refused Earl as a challenger but not Rees Is a strange one. The WBA refused some journymen for Mundine too though.
Exciting! Saturday July 21 ITV4 1945-2200 Souleymane M'baye v Gavin Rees Alex Arthur v Koba Gogoladze ITV1 2200-2340 Enzo Maccarinelli v Wayne Braithwaite
Anyone else feel a little uncomfortable about Rees fighting a world class opponent? This could be a massy mismatch.
Come on Gav! Anyway yes it does seem a big mis-match but M'Baye is good but nothing special. He must be the smallest lightwelter world title challenger ever at 5 3.
One of the weakest too , this is a ****ing joke . With that said I wouldn't mind Rees proving me wrong .
This is just one of the joke **** that FW gets away with. Even if Rees wins, it doesn't mean the fight was right. The funniest is when you are the WORLD cruiserweight champ but haven't really proven yourself on the WORLD level!
Man, i didnt realise this was his first fight at 140 and his first 12 rounder for 6 years. Hes gonna get badly beaten, how the hell did FW pull this one off with the WBA:huh
Well I thought Cook was going to win the world title last week and I was wrong and I think Rees is going to get battered this week so who knows i could be wrong again. It would be better for boxing if the british guys wernt getting battered in World title fights every week though...
