true, a powerful pressure fighter with a workrate like Mbilli can be really dangerous for an old and declining boxer (see Derevyanchenko fight), then Canelo is solid and has an iron chin but Mbilli, yes, is a bad customer.

I mean its an okay fight, its still a real shame we never saw Canelo V Benavidez.

 

I think he lost a lot of it in the Scull fight too. Especially after Bank beat Scull better than Nelo.

 

Mbili is the type of opponent prime Canelo ate for lunch.

that’s not a fight I ever wanted to see. Benavidez is just too big and too good in his weight class. Canelo has done really well fighting bigger guys but there’s a limit. Bivol was a step too far and Canelo didn’t look anything like his best in any of his fights after that, so had he fought Benevidez, I think he’d have been soundly beaten. Canelo should really have stayed at middleweight where he was already pushing his luck imo. I imagine Mbilli is going to beat him in September too.

 

This is a commendable fight, word is he will be at the Zurdo vs Benavidez fight too. I am still not sure if he will ever take him on, it’s strange for Alvarez to fail to rise to a challenge. That guy is a scary fighter but this is an all time great, perhaps losing to Crawford will tip him into looking to defeating el bandera roja to raise his pride again. That would bring him back the same credit he lost such is the danger that DB carries.

 

Dangerous fight for Canelo, if he has anything left to give he should win. If he’s over the hill Mbilli will outwork him to a decision.
