Just looked at the record, Jeff. I see that the ref was the same bloke that got a full thread about him on another forum. Maybe it's the ref that gets intimidated
im glad on internet as im ofshore and will get to see fight..that news to me mate down twice i was at the fight and you never put lee down credit to you you boxed well but never won .. also if my memory serves me right didnt you get beat your next fight against hardcastle who lee got after and beat him every round.. very bitter lad get over it mate
Funny Lee himself told me I won the fight. So did Brendan Ingle- and I got jobbed against Hardcastle too- how am I bitter by stating my opinion you tit? :huh... Twice the referee picked him off the canvas after he collapsed, once from a body shot and once from a head shot and I also nearly stopped him in the fifth when he was all over the place. Ask Lee himself. It doesn't matter now and i'm really not arsed anymore but lets be honest its hardly intimidating going to some pavillion by the sea!!! Its hardly death row!!
Not the one from the argyle! Didnt see the fight but no matter what, you obviously are bitter, seen you mention it a few times on here (or at least 2!) Does anyone know if its confirmed about mcallister getting the euro title shot in november? supposedly in glasgow? and getting back to the subject, offshore too so will watch it online - will never match TV though.
Lee McAllister knocked out Charlie King with a stunning right hook to retain his Commonwealth lightweight title. McAllister dominated the fight but King had stood up well until he was caught by a hammer blow in the seventh round in Aberdeen's Beach Ballroom. It was an impressive performance from McAllister, who won the title in June when he beat Godfriend Sowah, and may now earn a crack at the European crown. The 27-year-old from Aberdeen improved his record to 30 wins in 32 contests. He began as a big favourite against an opponent who had never boxed over 12 rounds and only once over 10. In an otherwise even opener at the Beach Ballroom, McAllister landed one or two telling blows which King appeared to take well. The champion continued to pick holes in King's defence but unwisely began taunting his opponent as early as the second. King refused to be provoked in a cagey third round before the fight exploded into life in the next, with McAllister rocking the 26-year-old back more than once. King responded on the counter but continued to be caught in the fifth and sixth. The fight was over early in the next, this time a magnificent right from from McAllister knocking out King, who slumped against the ropes and was counted out. McAllister said: "I took my time, I didn't have the zip about me. I got myself warmed up about the sixth round." Of his knockout blow, he added: "If my right connects with anyone, I'm banging them out, no matter who they are." He also had words of praise for King, saying: "He's from the steel city of Motherwell and he's as hard as steel." Seems like it was a good performance from Mcallister, anyone there? good night?
Jeff what you need is a writer and a semi-hometown venue and you just might end up getting a european title shot. Maybe Gpater can do the writing :happy
Ha ha anyone would think Lee McAllister had turned into Julian Jackson with that report. Decent win for Lee but i#ve never rated King anyway who by all accounts lost to Johnny Rocco too. The only form he's got was when Tommy Gilmour manipulated the Prizefighter set up...
