McCain wants a Pardon granted upon Galveston Giant

    Why is congressional time such a precious resource? This is the same Congress which can't deliver universal health care to America and is corrupted to the point of being unworkable by the armaments industry, the Israel Lobby and big pharma, to name a few.

    And its the same Congress which expelled a lot of hot air about Jack Johnson when it suited, including passage of a law in 1910 making it a Federal offense to transport moving pictures of prize fights across a state line. On the floor of Congress in 1912, a Representative Rodenberry of Georgia claimed "In Chicago, white girls are made the slaves of an african brute".

    So they can waste a lot of time blackening his reputation a century ago, but they haven't got the time to straighten the record now? I reckon they are morally obligated to pardon him. It would probably be the only legislation free of parasitic lobbyists, hence it would be one of the few things they might get right.
