A couple of years back I predicted McCall getting a shot at the title. Even at 42- with one of the best chins in HW history, a good training regime and his 'problems' hopefully behind him, he marches on through a weak division. Whether he can win a belt is up for debate hence the thread. He is a legit challenger IMO if not just for the story if he actually pulled it off..what a TV documentary that would be! Now it looks as though he may never get that chance but we will see.. So, who in your expert opinions would be his ideal HW belt opponent ?
McCall is more experienced than pretty much every other contender out there, everyone knows he has a top 2-3 chin of all time, and he hits hard. He has lost a lot of his reflexes, and speed but he can definently challenge for a belt and pull an upset. You can't count him out.
If Oliver lands flush in a fight that he is competetive in, against Maskaev or Chagaev, he has a chance of victory.. He can break a fighters heart by showing no emotion when under very heavy pressure.. He can definitely become champ again..
