McCall KO 2 Lewis- was it a bad or good stop

    At the time I was disappointed because I felt Lewis was going somewhere and did not feel the same about McCall but 90% of the time the ref see's it better than we do. Lewis lived on to improve and I have seen other fighters get ruined.

    I remember the Medrick Taylor -Chavez fight was a good call because of how bad MT was hurt, I understood there were only seconds left after the fact but it was a good call. Mike Weaver was on the wrong end of a stop by Michael Dokes and then got a draw but King owned the Ref's and the judges

    I remember as a kid me and my brother were watching a fight on TV and it turned out to be Benny Paret and Emile Griffith and I remember seeing Paret in all the papers coming out of the ring on a stretcher with a pacifier in his mouth, It stuck in my head and made me always remember how dangerous boxing can be. Recently the Perez-Mago fight brought back those memories

    Tough game boxing and the refs need to be trained to know when a guy is hurt
