[YT]watch?v=EEa1bXl2lS8[/YT] Heard a few different theories on this fight. Some people claim this fight was fixed. Also remember someone saying Mccall was hitting the pipe in the dressing room right before the fight, and what you see in the 3rd, 4th, 5th round is a crackhead freaking out and becoming desperate for his next blast. Trying to find a way out so he can get back to his pipe. All I can say for sure is this was one of the strangest fights ive ever seen live. The nineties gave us a few of these tho
The poor guy realized he got lucky in their first fight, but there wasn't anyway he was going to win the rematch. He probably felt he wasn't even going to win a round, and maybe even get KO'd. I guess it's not as bad as fouling to get out of the fight. . . . I agree, that was one of the strangest things to see a fighter to have a nervous breakdown like that during a fight.
Luck yeah oK he exploited LL's bad habbits of dropping his hands after he punches ..And mentally he wasn't ready to be a part of society let alone a boxing fights..If anyone got lucky it was Lewis because the Atomic Bull would have stretched him again!
Lewis couldn't knock down a guy who was standing in front of him crying, with his guard down. That's what happened.
Remind me, how many times has McCall ever been knocked down. Isn't he generally regarded to have one of the greatest chins of all time?
crack withdrawl is awful...shame on mccalls people letting this fight go on knowing he was in crack houses 2 weeks before the fight
Couldn't disagree with this assessment any more. Oliver clearly had a breakdown, and it didn't come from any punch. McCall had his hands at his WAIST for Christ's sake, and Lewis still didn't hurt him. And, this was not out of pity, by Lewis. Lennox stated in the post fight interview he was being careful so he didn't fall into one of Oliver's "traps." That tells me Lennox was still quite fearful of what The Atomic Bull could have done to him again if he could only have stayed off the drugs and kept his head on straight.
Why would they fix this fight?. McCall is a good fighter but he's not in the level where he needs to job, especially not against a highly skilled great fighter like Lewis. I just think his addiction got to him and he couldn't perform.
He bailed because he knew he was getting wupped, and all that crying ****, he used to do that before every fight anyway on the way to the ring. He got beat by a much better fighter and instead of taking his ass wupping like a man he decided to bail, end of fooking story.
