I believe it was due to his drug problems. Not because he was getting his ass beat, or because Lewis "was a different fighter".

wasn't he just a few weeks out of rehab?

he was in no mental state to fight. It was criminal that Don King put him in there

Frank Maloney really tore into Don King following this fight about that.
They'd hated each other ever since King tried to steal Lewis away from him before the Tucker fight in '93 anyway, so Maloney let King have it with both barrels...think he practically accused him of violating international human rights law and so on.

Don King didn't give a ****. As soon as about the 3rd round, McCall just fell to pieces. Really sad and it hurt Lennox a lot as well.

McCall was on medicals and antidepressiva. He was definitely not in the mantal shape to fight. LL had a good time fighting a wreck like McCall.

God forbid a fighter making up his own mind up on whether to fight.

There is nothing intruiging in that fight. Mccall tried his "luck" again for the 1st 2 rounds and couldn't do **** and so he tried to play around hoping Lewis would loosen up.

Lewis just stuck to his game plan, Mccall got desperate and took his "playing around" tactics into a different level.

Nothing that Mccall could have done nor any version of Mccall could have change the outcome of that fight.
