I'm a big fan of Hopkins and think he would have outhustled Sumbu and Toney. Hopkins was a master strategist and he invariably came up with great game plans. He could also adapt as a fight went on. He was extremely difficult to time with counters and almost impossible to get into a rhythm against. He'd be a bit too slippery for McCallum for mine.
You might be right. Too bad we never got to see him against better fighters at his peak. But no shadow on him, he decisevely beat what there was to beat. A shame a rematch with Roy never came off in 2002.
Simple facts. I wouldn't expect you to see the logic considering you favor McCallum to beat every middleweight ever except Jones and Monzon LOLOL
That is unlikely as Mc Callum was a very busy fighter. Mc Callum by decision. His jab would be the difference.
Yeah, Mike kept a high pace. But slowed down perhaps at little bit at MW. Graham had some success by making it an intense physical fight, and prime Hopkins would have more succes doing that I think. But still not very likely that he'd go full out with that tactic. Perhaps change gears several times during the fight. Trying to keep Mike guessing.
Can't even read lol. I said the only MWs I would favor over him are Monzon and Roy. A few of 50/50 fights like Hopkins GGG Kalambay is obviously a 50/50 fight too
