Both were masterful technicians however McCallum even though some were disputed
lost too many big fights to be regarded as ATG.
Hopkin 's was in great condition and would survive McCallum body punches to win
    another hotly disputed decision.

Sorry but i don't call the "event" a ducking, not even close. My mail is money along with other things but irregardless Toney was already more heavyweight than cruiserweight. Hopkins fought at 160 for another 2 years, why on earth would he fight someone 30 pounds heavier. Hagler wouldn't go up to 175 let alone 190. Imagine him fighting say an Evander Holyfield. Hopkins 2 years later eased up to 175 and made a heckuva mark up there but Cruiserweight in 2003 would have been ridiculous.

Once Hopkins got cracking around middleweight he dominated forever. Toney was no-where near as consistent at 160 and struggled a few times. I think he was a stronger fighter at higher weights tho obviously he was a very very good middleweight. Certainly beatable tho especially for a great like Hopkins.

Wow a tough fight to call!

Hopkins at 160 was not the best version so I would probably lean to McCallum in a close points win.

Hopkins dominated at 160 for almost a decade

Granted he tailed off late and lost two close fights to Taylor and looked a millions dollars again once he decided to forego the drain of making 160 any longer (and moved up to 175) but he was absolutely peak early in the second half of his 160 domination.

Mike for me was peak at 154 but he still made a superb middleweight with all his skills and durability.

He was a real throwback to the old days and Hopkins and Toney also reminded me more of old school fighters. The skill and ability of all three are a treat to watch.

Hey JT, I remember you from a few years ago. I'm gonna admit I wasn't the biggest Hopkins fan back when he was calling himself 'The Executioner' so maybe I'm selling him a bit short. When I think about this again I have no idea who might win.
