mcclellan was outpointed by lesser men at a lesser weight. toney by UD , not wide for sure. mcclellan will win some rounds on effective aggression. take into consideration that by the time he fought benn , he was already head injured probably from the jackson first fight.
I posted this cause I think it's a fascinating one--a very pure puncher and fierce aggressor with great speed as well, against one of the toughest, best defensive fighters and counterpunchers of the last 50 years. I guess based on the fact that JT has a chin capable of taking Samuel Peter a big heavy-handed heavyweights best shots and late in his career as well...it makes it hard for me to imagine even a big GM right hand KOing him, and JT was sooo hard to catch flush...I think wide JT decision with perhaps a late wear-down stoppage of G-man But I think this one would have been a BLAST to watch, the egos, the aggression, the pure fighters they both were and the complimentary styles.
McClellan, with his increasingly sloppy habits post-Steward, would be tailor-made for the iron-chinned Toney, who excelled at countering aggressive fighters with leaky defenses. Toney tears him up.
